[Intro]
I say 'Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh'
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
I say 'Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh'
Come on!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh

And you will see how godless of a nation we have become...

Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Jump!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh

[Verse 1]
Raise your hands now to testify
Your confession will be crucified
You're a sacrificial suicide
Like a dog that's been sodomized, well

(Stand up!) All the white boys
(Sit down!) And the black girls
(Stand up!) You're the soldiers
(Sit down!) Of the new world

[Pre-Chorus]
Put your faith in a miracle
And it's non-denominational
Join the choir, we'll be singing
In the church of wishful thinking

[Chorus]
A fire burns today
Of blasphemy and genocide
The sirens of decay
Will infiltrate the faith fa-jump, jump!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Alright! Get those hands up in the air!

[Verse 2]
Oh, bless me, Lord, for I have sinned
It's been a lifetime since I last confessed
I threw my crutches in "the river of a shadow of doubt"
And I'll be dressed up in my Sunday best

[Pre-Chorus]
Say a prayer for the family
Drop a coin for humanity
Ain't this uniform so flattering?
I never asked you a goddamn thing!

[Chorus]
A fire burns today
Of blasphemy and genocide
The sirens of decay
Will infiltrate the faith-jump, jump, jump!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Go!

[Bridge: Crowd]
Don't test me!
Second-guess me!
Protest me!
You! Will! Disappear!

[Verse 3]
I want to know who's allowed to breed
All the dogs who never learned to read
Missionary politicians
And the cops of the new religion!

[Guitar Solo]

I say woo! Woo!
I say woo! Woo!
I say woah-oh-oh-oh-oh...
Come on!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh...
I say oh-oh-oh-oh-oh...
Come on!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh...

[Outro]
A fire burns today
Of blasphemy and genocide
The sirens of decay
Will infiltrate the inside...
Yeah!
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh!

Green Day

Formed in East Bay, California in 1986 and still going strong today, Green Day is one of the biggest punk rock acts in the world. Along with other punk bands in California such as The Offspring, Sublime, Bad Religion and Rancid, they have been credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the U.S. in the 90s.

First starting in 1986 as Sweet Children, longtime friends Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar and lead vocalist) and Mike Dirnt (bass guitar) teamed up with John Kiffmeyer to produce their debut EP 1,000 Hours. They eventually dropped the name Sweet Children and called themselves Green Day due to the band members' fondness for cannabis (it even inspired a song featured on their first album) and for their second studio album Kerplunk they replaced Kiffmeyer with German-born drummer Tré Cool, who had been drumming since the age of 12 in a punk band, The Lookouts.

It was their 1994 record Dookie that sent the band to stardom and gave them mainstream success. Dookie, alongside their following albums Insomniac (1995) and Nimrod (1997) were certified double platinum. Eventually, the band started to fall in popularity with their 2000 record Warning which only reached gold.
