[Intro: John Legend & Jadakiss]
Hey
Let me pour a round
Everybody knows
Everybody

[Verse 1: Jadakiss]
Let me start this by sayin' that you're the one I want
A mistake ain't a mistake if you do it more than once
Like the pain don't stop, we been through it more than once
'Fore the streets could tell you, you already knew it from the jump
I'm never home, I'm on the road, partyin' and stuff
I fucked up, yeah, I know, "Sorry" ain't enough
Heart beatin', mind racin', Ferrari on the hutch
It's a shame, 'cause we done came too far to give it up
Three beautiful boys and there's a part of them in us
Cuts turnin' to scabs, and then the scars shrivel up
At the end of the day, my plans are to live it up
It's nobody to blame, it's just me, trust me

[Chorus: John Legend & Jadakiss]
Nobody ever told me, it'd be easy
Nobody ever promised me no pain
Nobody ever said, "There's always sunshine"
Sometimes, it's gonna rain (Trust me)
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain (I know)
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain (Yeah)

[Verse 2: Jadakiss]
Ignatius Maurice Jackson, if you knew him, then you loved him
When you seen him, you would dap him, then you hugged him
Good energy, everybody dug him
He dealt with me when I was hard-headed and stubborn
Yeah, now I'm givin' you Jason
He helped me see the light in some dark situations
Bought hits, told me that only needed the vocals
You could feel the vibes the minute that he approached you
I was seein' money, I wasn't seein' the wealth
He seen things in me that I ain't see in myself
We built somethin', you gone, now I'm seein' it melt
And it's crazy 'cause the Lord knows I needed your help, damn

[Chorus: John Legend & Jadakiss]
Nobody ever told me, it'd be easy
Nobody ever promised me no pain (Damn)
Nobody ever said, "There's always sunshine"
Sometimes, it's gonna rain (I know)
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain (Pain)

[Bridge: John Legend]
If you wanna go to Heaven, you got to take the chance
You crash and burn, oh, yeah
If you looking for real love, don't be afraid
That it might hurt

[Chorus: John Legend]
Nobody ever told me, it'd be easy
Nobody ever promised me no pain
Nobody ever said there's always sunshine
Sometimes, it's gonna rain
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain
It's gonna rain
Oh-oh-oh, I, I know
It's gonna rain

[Outro: John Legend]
Where's all the pain inside?

Jadakiss

Jason “Jadakiss” Phillips is a successful millionaire hip-hop sensation, who remained in the spotlight for many decades after his debut. Jadakiss lived most of his childhood in Yonkers, New York.

Jadakiss started selling drugs at the age of 12 when his parents told him that he should start making money on his own. One day, Jadakiss noticed people freestyling on the streets. He became curious and took part in it, later realizing that this could be the source of a future career prospect. Jada took it further and entered competitions leaving the drug trade. While rapping on the streets, Jada met DMX who later introduced him to his future lifelong friends Sheek Louch and Styles P.

The three later went on to form a rap group called “The Warlocks” which is known today as “The LOX” – an acronym for “Living Off X-perience.” Jadakiss’ group released their first album in 1994 called Fuck What You Think which became a major catalyst for his career. From the age of 16, Jadakiss was known throughout the hip-hop community as a successful freestyle rapper who made approximately $707,000 annually.
