[Verse 1]
24 Xs on the calendar
The kids say, "Hooray! The big day's finally here!"
It's Christmas Eve
They set out Santa's cookies, just like rehearsed
Look so excited that they just might burst
It's Christmas Eve
And the kids won't go to sleep

[Chorus]
Whoa
It's Christmastime in the country
Whoa
It's Christmastime

[Verse 2]
Before dawn, there's a chill in the air
Head to the tree to see the kids already there
It's Christmas day
There's cocoa and pancakes for the family
Loved ones gather all 'round the tree
This Christmas day
Everybody's got so much to say

[Chorus]
Whoa
It's Christmastime in the country
Whoa
It's Christmastime
It's Christmastime

[Verse 3]
Slow yodeling
Had no clue what to do for Uncle Bob or Cousin Jean
It's sure good Santa Claus takes care of everything
This Christmastime
Opening presents, the kids are sure glad
But those kids are the best gift we ever could have
This Christmastime
We're gonna count our blessings tonight

[Chorus]
Whoa
It's Christmastime in the country
Whoa
It's Christmastime
Whoa
It's Christmastime in the country
Whoa
It's Christmastime in the country
It's Christmastime

[Bridge]
Thinks I'm gonna chop some wood
Gonna build me a fire
Gonna shovel some snow
On second thought, maybe I'll get my husband to do it though
I just wanna sit around and watch my kiddie grow

[Outro]
Don't you know?
It's Christmastime
