[Verse 1]
We found each other
I helped you out of a broken place
You gave me comfort
But falling for you was my mistake

[Pre-Chorus]
I put you on top, I put you on top
I claimed you so proud and openly
And when times were rough, when times were rough
I made sure I held you close to me

[Chorus]
So call out my name (Call out my name, baby)
So call out my name when I kiss you so gently (Oh)
I want you to stay (I want you to stay)
I want you to stay even though you don't want me
Oh, why can't you wait? (Why can't you wait, baby?)
Oh, why can't you wait 'til I fall out of love?
Call out my name (So call out my name, baby)
Call out my name and I'll be on my way and
I'll be on my way

[Verse 2]
Said I didn't feel nothing, baby, but I lied
I almost cut a piece of myself for your life
Guess I was just another pit stop 'til you made up your mind
You just wasted my time

[Pre-Chorus]
You were on top, I put you on top
I claimed you so proud and openly
And when times were rough, when times were rough
I made sure I held you close to me

[Chorus]
So call out my name (Call out my name, baby)
Boy, call out my name when I kiss you so gently (Oh)
I want you to stay (I want you to stay)
I want you to stay even though you don't want me
Oh, why can't you wait? (Why can't you wait?)
Boy, why can't you wait 'til I fall out of love? And
Call out my name (So call out my name)
Call out my name and I'll be on my way and
I'll be on my way

[Outro]
(Call out my, call out my, call out my name)
(Call out my, call out my, call out my name)
Won't you call out my, call out my, call out my name?
Call out my, call out my, call and I'll be on my way

Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. In 2002, she came to prominence after winning the first season of American Idol, and has since been established as “The Original American Idol”. Her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in the chart’s history.

Her first album, Thankful included the top ten single “Miss Independent”, which earned her first Grammy nomination. Her second album Breakaway produced the hit single “Since U Been Gone” which reached number two on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Clarkson went in a different direction with her self-creatively-controlled third album, My December. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and produced the top-ten single “Never Again.” Her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Lead single “My Life Would Suck Without You” re-broke the record for biggest jump to number one on the Hot 100, jumping 97-1 in its second week on the chart. The record still stands today.
