[Intro]
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum-boom
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum-boom
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum

[Verse 1]
When you're out there on the floor, y'all
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin'
Check me out, I can move, I can groove
I can rock, I can shake
I can make your body quake, baby

[Chorus]
(If you feel like dancin', get on up)
Just go ahead and rock, yeah
Can't nobody stop ya
(When you feel the music, get on down)
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin'
(Keep that body workin', work it out)
Start to work, mmm, boogie down
(When you feel like dancin', get on down)
Just go ahead and rock
Can't nobody stop you

[Post-Chorus]
Temperature's risin', it's not surprisin'
It makes me move my feet, well
Feelin' the fire, takin' me higher, higher
Higher, yeah

[Bridge]
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum-boom
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum-boom
Boom-boom-boom-ba-dum

[Chorus]
(If you feel like dancin', get on up)
Whoa-whoa-oh
Just go ahead and rock, yeah
Can't nobody stop ya
(When you feel the music, get on down)
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin'
(Keep that body workin', work it out)
Start to work, ooh, work it out
(When you feel like dancin', get on down)
Boogie down, way, way down

[Post-Chorus]
Temperature's risin', it's not surprisin'
It makes me move my feet, well
Feelin' the fire, takin' me higher, higher
Higher, yeah

[Interlude]
Get up
Get up
Get up

[Chorus]
(If you feel like dancin', get on up)
Just go ahead and rock, yeah
Can't nobody stop ya
(When you feel the music, get on down)
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin'
(Keep that body workin', work it out)
Start to work, work it out, work it, baby
(When you feel like dancin', get on down)
Boogie down, way, way down
(If you feel like dancin', get on up)
Whoa-whoa-oh, ah
Yes, just keep that body workin'
(When you feel the music, get on down)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Keep that body workin', work it out)
Just go ahead and rock, yeah
Can't nobody stop ya
(When you feel like dancin', get on down)
Boogie down, way, way, way down

[Outro]
(Get on up)
Shake it, baby, get up
Get down, rock around, come on
(Get on down)
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin'
(Work it out)
Just go ahead and rock, baby
Can't nobody stop ya, no
(Get on down)
Get down, baby, get down, yeah
(If you feel like dancin', get on up)
Whoa-whoa-oh, ah
Get up
Come on (When you feel the music, get on down)
Music starts a-playin', everybody's sayin', yeah
(Keep that body workin', work it out)
Start to work
(When you feel like dancin', get on down)
Just go ahead and rock, yeah
Can't nobody stop ya

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
