[Chorus]
Yes we have to organize, organize, organize
Do away with all the lies, all the lies, all the lies
They coming with the mac and the Glock and the 45
In between the protests we profess and realize
Yes we have to organize, organize, organize
Do away with all the lies, all the lies, all the lies
They coming with the tear gas and Glocks and the 45
In between the protests wе profess and realize

[Verse 1]
Rеalize that we have already been here before
Protests in the streets 'cause we seeing we all at war
Burning police cars and we shooting, looting these stores
You may not agree but you see they changing these laws
The only thing they understand now is our city burning
They acting like they shocked with these cops, they just learning
Seeing Mr. Floyd on the ground it got 'em squirming
Now we can see they are the Nazis, we the German blacks

[Chorus]
Yes we have to organize, organize, organize
Do away with all the lies, all the lies, all the lies
They coming with the mac and the Glock and the 45
In between the protests we profess and realize
Yes we have to organize, organize, organize
Do away with all the lies, all the lies, all the lies
They coming with the tear gas and Glocks and the 45
In between the protests we profess and realize

[Verse 2]
Yeah we always wake up but then we go back to sleep again
In between the protests is when we be getting weak again
We hear about the looting, another shooting this week again
This give the police another excuse to hit the streets again
White police, black population could never be your friend
Our mothers and our fathers, they be seizing them
They the overseers, we the S-L-A-V-Es to them
We gotta rise to the level where we ain't needing them
Everybody

[Verse 3]
Yes you have to follow me, follow me, follow me
It's my philosophy that white law monopoly makes democracy hypocrisy
In a capitalist economy there's no democracy
I demand a return to my sovereignty, no apology
Independence, autonomy, no need to mommy me
I could run my own country if you could just stop bombing me
Give me my land back, give me my gold back
My heritage, my birthright, you outright stole that

KRS-One

The legendary MC from the South Bronx, New York, Lawrence “KRS-One” Parker has been steadily rapping since 1985. His name stands for “Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone”.

KRS came to rapping only by chance. In the Something from The Art of Rap documentary, he recalls watching an MC cypher when suddenly “a dude” randomly picked him out of the crowd and made fun of him. Feeling compelled to defend himself, KRS performed a little freestyle which impressed the crowd and eventually kicked off his rapping career.

His breakthrough onto the hip hop scene began with “The Bridge Is Over” – an answer record to the popular Queens rapper MC Shan’s song “Queensbridge”. From 1986 to 1992, KRS-One fronted the groundbreaking hip hop group Boogie Down Productions, scoring six top 20 hits on the US Rap Chart. In 1993, he began a solo career spanning three decades, racking up six more top 20 Rap Chart hits with “Sound of da Police”, “MCs Act Like They Don’t Know”, “Step Into A World” and “Men Of Steel” also achieving mainstream pop success on the Hot 100.
