[Verse 1: Mike Shinoda]
Back, before I said goodbye
Just as the first day turned to night
Just as the concrete turned to dust
And the steel turned into rust

All I could think was a new way to dig through the damage
Couldn't think of a way to get through this
Now, I see you taking advantage
And I find another reason to do this

[Pre-Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I'm digging us a hole to travel through
I wanna find a way to rattle you
You wanna try to hear the thunder hit?
You're gonna have to follow me under it

Let go, it's begun
Close your eyes, I'm not done
Breathe a word and waste your breath
And keep it up 'til there's nothing left

[Instrumental Chorus]

[Verse 2: Mike Shinoda]
Now, that I said goodbye
Just as the darkness turned to light
Just as the next light turns to day
And the world gets underway

All I can see is the anticipation
Waiting to take this out on the wind and the raindrops
And I waited patiently, taking it in
Ready for the first of the face-off's

[Pre-Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I'm digging us a hole to travel through
I wanna find a way to rattle you
You wanna try to hear the thunder hit?
You're gonna have to follow me under it

Let go, it's begun
Close your eyes, I'm not done
Breathe a word and waste your breath
And keep it up 'til there's nothing left

[Instrumental Chorus]

[Bridge: Mike Shinoda & Chester Bennington]
(I...) I'm digging us a hole to travel through
(I...) I wanna find a way to rattle you
(You...) You wanna try to hear the thunder hit?
(You...) You're gonna have to follow me under it

(I...) I'm digging us a hole to travel through
(I...) I wanna find a way to rattle you
(You...) You wanna try to hear the thunder hit?
(You...) You're gonna have to follow me under it

(I...) I'm digging us a hole to travel through
(I...) I wanna find a way to rattle you
(You...) You wanna try to hear the thunder hit?
(You...) You're gonna have to follow me under it

(I...) Let go, it's begun
(I...) Close your eyes, I'm not done
(You...) Breathe a word and waste your breath
(You...) And keep it up 'til there's nothing left

[Instrumental Chorus]

Linkin Park

Hybrid Theory isn’t just the title of Linkin Park’s chart-topping debut album, but a career mission statement.

From day one, the same six players (lead vocalist Chester Bennington, drummer/percussionist Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell, DJ/Programmer Joe Hahn, and keyboardist, guitarist, and co-lead vocals Mike Shinoda) built the band by fusing all their favorite styles of music into one unmistakable signature sound. With each album, Linkin Park defiantly challenges themselves and their fans by blasting into new musical territory. After setting the template for rock that incorporated hip-hop influences with Hybrid Theory and Meteora, they shifted gears completely and defied expectations with the polychromatic Minutes to Midnight, and again with the esoteric A Thousand Suns, before melding a piece of them all into 2012’s LIVING THINGS. With their 2014 release and heaviest offering in years, The Hunting Party, Linkin Park manage to capture their ever-innovative spirit with a hunger seldom seen in bands on their seventh album. One More Light (2017) is an interesting personal album, filled with a lot of emotion.

Unfortunately, on July 20, 2017, Chester unexpectedly died by suicide, shocking and saddening both fans and his own band members alike.
