[Verse 1]
I see your shadow on the street now
I hear you push through the rusty gate
Click of your heels on the concrete
Waiting for a knock coming way too late
It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days

[Bridge 1]
So you come in and put your bags down
I know there's something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
If you're over there when I need you here

[Chorus]
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go

[Verse 2]
It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days
I hope that time hasn't changed you
All I really want is for you to stay

[Bridge 1]
So you come in and put your bags down
I know there's something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
You're over there when I need you here

[Chorus]
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go

[Bridge 2]
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside

[Bridge 1]
You're over there when I need you here

[Chorus]
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go

[Chorus]
My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go

[Bridge 2]
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside
I know, I know, I know what is inside

Lorde

Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor (b. November 7, 1996), better known by her stage name Lorde, is a pop star hailing from New Zealand. While her earlier music focused on criticizing fame and the “pop star” culture, she grew into it more with her second album while keeping the superb writing she’s known for.

She first became a figure on the international scene with her debut EP The Love Club but didn’t start to blow up until her song “Royals” reached #1 on charts worldwide, including the US. Her use of apt metaphors and allegories at just sixteen made her a revered and intriguing media figure.

Although she was initially written off as a one-hit-wonder, her top-ten second single “Team,” curation of The Hunger Mockingjay soundtrack, and her friendships with other A-listers like Taylor Swift have kept her in the spotlight, as well as general intrigue about new music.
