[Intro]
Oh, oh-oh, oh (Oh, oh)
Oh, oh-oh, oh (Baby, baby, baby)
Oh, oh-oh, oh (Oh, oh)
Oh, oh-oh, oh (Hey)

[Verse 1]
For the record, you oughta know
You wasn't thinking when you let me go
But whatever, that's how it goes
Win some, you lose some, and others you hold in your heart
Why it gets so hard, tears you all apart
Even though you try to let go, no, no, no
Suddenly you're here, and it's all surreal
And I don't know what the deal

[Chorus]
'Cause when I'm looking in your eyes
Feels like the first time
Give me one good reason why
We can't just press rewind
I don't wanna spend my life
Thinking what it could've been like
If we had another try (One time)
Like back in the day, that look on your face
Feels like, the first time

[Verse 2]
Them other regularities, they can't compete with MC
The whole entire world can tell
That you love yourself some me
People see you now, asking all about me
And how they always thought we were so perfect together
Let's rewrite the end, start over again
And it's gon' go better now

[Chorus]
'Cause when I'm looking in your eyes
Feels like the first time
Give me one good reason why
We can't just press rewind
I don't wanna spend my life
Thinking what it could've been like
If we had another try (One time)
Like back in the day, that look on your face
Feels like, the first time

[Bridge]
For the record (For the record)
You'll always be a part of me, no matter what you do
And for the record (For the record)
Can't nobody say I didn't give my all to you
And for the record (For the record)
I told you underneath the stars that you belong to me
And for the record (For the record)
It's obvious that we just can't let go of us, honey (Oh no, oh)

[Chorus]
'Cause when I'm looking in your eyes
Feels like the first time (Oh)
Give me one good reason why (Give me one good reason)
We can't just press rewind (Why can't we just press rewind?)
I don't wanna spend my life (Don't wanna spend my life)
Thinking what it could've been like
(We just need another try) If we had another try (One time)
Like back in the day, that look on your face (Yeah I love you boy)
Feels like, the first time (Oh)
'Cause when I'm looking in your eyes
Feels like the first time
Give me one good reason why
We can't just press rewind
I don't wanna spend my life
Thinking what it could've been like
If we had another try (One time)
Like back in the day, that look on your face
Feels like, the first time

[Outro]
For the record, baby
Now you know, baby

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
