[Verse 1]
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I didn't mean it when I said I didn't love you so
I shoulda held on tight, I never shoulda let you go
I didn't know nothing, I was stupid, I was foolish
I was lyin' to myself
I couldn't have fathomed I would ever be without your love
Never imagined I'd be sitting here beside myself
'Cause I didn't know you, 'cause I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything I never felt

[Pre-Chorus]
The feeling that I'm feeling now that I don't hear your voice
Or have your touch and kiss your lips 'cause I don't have a choice
Oh, what I wouldn't give to have you lyin' by my side
Right here, 'cause, baby

[Chorus]
(We belong together)
When you left, I lost a part of me (Together)
It's still so hard to believe (Come back, come back)
(Come back, come back)
Come back, baby, please
'Cause we belong together
Who else am I gon' lean on when times get rough? (Who else?)
And who's gonna talk to me on the phone 'til the sun comes up? (Who else?)
Who's gonna take your place? There ain't nobody better (Who else?)
Oh, baby, baby, we belong together

[Verse 2]
I can't sleep at night, when you are on my mind
Bobby Womack's on the radio
Singing to me, "If you think you're lonely now"
Wait a minute, this is too deep (Too deep)
Too deep
So I turn the dial, tryin' to catch a break
And then I hear Babyface, "I only think of you"
And it's breaking my heart
I'm tryna keep it together, but I'm falling apart

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm feelin' all out of my element
Throwin' things, cryin'
Tryin' to figure out where the hell I went wrong
The pain reflected in this song
Ain't even half of what I'm feeling inside
I need you, need you back in my life, baby (My life, my life)

[Chorus]
(We belong together)
When you left, I lost a part of me (Together)
It's still so hard to believe (Come back, come back)
(Come back, come back)
Come back, baby, please
'Cause we belong together
Who else am I gon' lean on when times get rough? (Who else?)
And who's gonna talk to me on the phone 'til the sun comes up? (Who else?)
Who's gonna take your place? There ain't nobody better (Who else?)
Oh, baby, baby, we belong together, baby
(We belong together)
When you left, I lost a part of me (Together)
It's still so hard to believe (Come back, come back)
(Come back, come back)
Come back, baby, please
'Cause we belong together
Who else am I gon' lean on when times get rough? (Who else?)
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone 'til the sun comes up? (Who else?)
Who's gonna take your place? There ain't nobody better (Who else?)
Oh, baby, baby, we belong together (We belong together)

[Bridge]
Oh, baby
I know we do
And maybe
Yeah, yeah, we do (Baby, we belong, we belong)
Yes, we do (Baby, we belong)
Oh, baby (We belong)
Together, together
Baby (Baby, we belong, we belong)
I know we do (Baby we belong, we belong)
We belong
Oh yeah, we (Baby, we belong)
Oh, baby (We belong)
Together, together
Belong (Baby, we belong)
Boy, when you left I lost a part of me
Oh, baby, we (Baby, we belong)
Said boy, when you left me (We belong)
I lost a part of me (Baby, we belong)
Come back, baby, 'cause we (We belong)
Oh, baby, baby
I know we do (Baby, we belong)
We belong together (Baby, we belong)

[Outro]
Baby, baby
Baby
Baby, we
We, we belong
Oh, baby, we
I know
Baby
Baby, we
I know we do
We belong together
No matter what they say or do
We
We belong together
Forever

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist.

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records “Emotions” (1991), “Music Box” (1993), and “Merry Christmas” (1994), Carey was established as Columbia’s highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single “One Sweet Day”, a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history, along with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola.
