[Verse 1: Mary J. Blige]
Remember all the days when loving you was easy
You used to hold and squeeze me all through the night
I wanna make you feel like you never felt in your life
Just wanna make it alright
So hold on tight

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
Baby, I'm going down
'Cause you're never around
And I'm feeling like I can't let go
Please stay with me
(Baby, please stay with me)
Deep inside I'm slowly dying
And through all my screams and crying
I am holding on with all my might
Why can't you see

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige & Faith Evans, Puff Daddy, Method Man (Sample)]
I'm goin' down
I'm goin' down
(I'll make it hot)
I'm goin' down
(Stop, look, and listen)
I'm goin' down
(Keep on)
(I'll make it hot)

[Verse 2: Mary J. Blige, Puff Daddy, Method Man Sample]
Please tell me why you feel this way inside
I really need to know so I can ease my mind
I wanna make you see that I'm everything you need
Your every wish, your dream come true, your fantasy
(I'll make it hot) (Keep on)

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige, The Notorious B.I.G. (Sample), Method Man (Sample)]
Baby, I'm going down
'Cause you're never around
And I'm feeling like I can't let go
Please stay with me
(I'll make it hot)
(Baby, please say with me)
Deep inside I'm slowly dying
And through all my screams and crying
I am holding on with all my might
Why can't you see
(Keep on)

[Verse 3: Mr. Cheeks]
Yo Shanay, how you do?
Ayy, it's Mr. Cheeks out the blue
From way over there I had my eye on you
Now can I, get you a drink, and girlfriend, do you blaze?
I wanna get with you in so many different ways
I know it seems strange, this here way that we meetin'
But listen, I got hotel money, girlfriend, and I'm cheatin'
So if you come with me, I'll show you how I do
I got some mens up in here, you got some friends for my crew?
Or better yet, me and you could jet
And get butt nekk', end up soakin' wet
Swerve to Mary J., shorty, how that sound?
Spark the blunt then the lights are goin' down

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige & Faith Evans, Puff Daddy, Method Man (Sample)]

[Bump over Chorus: Mary J. Blige, Puff Daddy, Method Man (Sample)]
Don't know what's happening to me
I'm feeling really crazy
I'm goin' down
Is it because I'm goin' down?
(I'll make it hot)
Sometimes I still don't know why
I sit around and I cry
It's all because I'm going down
(Stop, look and listen...keep on)

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige & Faith Evans, Puff Daddy, Method Man (Sample), *Notorious B.I.G. (Sample)*]

Mary J. Blige

Mary Jane Blige (b. Jan 11 1971) grew up in the projects of Yonkers, New York. A random decision to record a cover of “Caught Up in the Rapture” by Anita Baker in a pop-up recording booth at a mall led MJB to getting signed by Uptown Entertainment. After providing background vocals on Father MC’s hit single “I’ll Do 4 U” in 1990, a young intern at Uptown named Sean “Puffy” Combs ended up executive producing Mary’s 1992 debut album What’s The 411?. Fusing hip-hop beats with Mary’s soulful voice earned her the nickname “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul”.

She followed up her debut with a string of critically acclaimed albums, including 1994’s My Life and 1997’s Share My World, as well as hit singles such as “Not Gon' Cry,” “Family Affair,” “Be Without You,” and “Just Fine.”

She also collaborated with rappers on a number of tracks, including Jay-Z’s “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” Ghostface Killah’s “All That I Got is You,” Wyclef’s “911,” Common’s “Come Close,” and Method Man’s “I’ll Be There for You/All I Need to Get By,” which was a platinum hit and won the two of them a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group.
