[Verse 1: Mary J. Blige]
You know if the time is right
I don't wanna fuss and fight
I just wanna let you know
I'm feeling good tonight
I want you to take my hand and promise you'll be cool
Because I know you like the way that I move

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
Oh boy, you bring me joy
Some try to play me
But they can't fade me
Oh boy, you've go it goin' on
And you make me happy (Happy)
So very happy

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
In my life, boy
(What I'm gonna do, yeah)
I don't know if I could live
(I don't know, I don't know)
Live without you
You bring me joy

[Verse 2: Mary J. Blige]
You know when I think of you
I'm thinkin' of myself
I just wanna be with you, my friend
And no one else
It's not hard to say what I feel
Because you know that my love is for real

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
Oh boy, I'll be your toy
Come on and play with me
And never leave me
Oh boy, you've got it goin' on
And you satisfy me (Yes, you do)
You satisfy me

[Bridge: Mary J. Blige]
So much joy
In my world (Ooh, la la la)
Be my man (Be my man)
And I'll be your girl

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
In my life, boy
(What I'm gonna do, yeah)
I don't know if I could live
Live without you
You bring me joy

[Verse 3: Mary J. Blige]
Wait just a minute
Something else is on my mind
I don't wanna have to tell you this but one more time
You're the only man I want
And I am never gonna front
On ya, baby, so relax your mind
And realize

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
(Realize that I'ma do you right)
In my life, boy
I don't know if I could live
(I don't know, I don't know)
Live without you
You bring me joy

[Interlude: MC Lyte]
Lyte checkin' in on the ones and twos
Do 'em up a lil somethin' on the mic, Lin Que

[Verse 4: Lin Que & MC Lyte]
Uh, oh boy, live to give me joy
I'm followin' your tail like the wheels in a convoy
Though like a tomboy, yeah, rugged's how I'm livin'
I come stronger than mace with more grace than Thanksgiving (Yeah)
I got a trippin', more than a stewardess
Watch that muscle stiffen as if givin' rigor mortis
I'm not the Taurus but the virgin keeps ya soakin'
You can't front, you know I gotcha open
I'm only buggin', yep, because I'm so in love witcha
Be on ya like cocaine be arranged upon a smuggler
You're like my jugular, my bouncin' baby boy
Don't know what I'd do without ya, you bring me joy

[Interlude: MC Lyte]
Lyte checkin' in on the ones and twos
We did 'em up a lil somethin' on the mic, Lin Que

[Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
In my life, boy
(I don't know)
I don't know if I could live
Live without you
You bring me joy
(I don't know, I don't know)
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
In my life, boy
(What I'm gonna do, yeah)
I don't know if I could live
Live without you
You bring me joy
I don't know what I would do
Do without you
In my life, boy

Mary J. Blige

Mary Jane Blige (b. Jan 11 1971) grew up in the projects of Yonkers, New York. A random decision to record a cover of “Caught Up in the Rapture” by Anita Baker in a pop-up recording booth at a mall led MJB to getting signed by Uptown Entertainment. After providing background vocals on Father MC’s hit single “I’ll Do 4 U” in 1990, a young intern at Uptown named Sean “Puffy” Combs ended up executive producing Mary’s 1992 debut album What’s The 411?. Fusing hip-hop beats with Mary’s soulful voice earned her the nickname “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul”.

She followed up her debut with a string of critically acclaimed albums, including 1994’s My Life and 1997’s Share My World, as well as hit singles such as “Not Gon' Cry,” “Family Affair,” “Be Without You,” and “Just Fine.”

She also collaborated with rappers on a number of tracks, including Jay-Z’s “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” Ghostface Killah’s “All That I Got is You,” Wyclef’s “911,” Common’s “Come Close,” and Method Man’s “I’ll Be There for You/All I Need to Get By,” which was a platinum hit and won the two of them a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group.
