[Verse 1]
I've been searching for someone
But never looked before my eyes
There you were to my surprise
It was so obvious looking into your face
After playing a game of truth or dare
I wanted to stay at your place

[Pre-Chorus]
I never thought that I would fall in love with you
But since the day we kissed I knew it had to be you
I never thought we would be together
I can't believe I just made love to you
After all the things that we've been through
Now what are we gonna do? Ohh

[Chorus]
Monday, a friend of mine, Tuesday, we played a game
Wednesday, you went away, Thursday, things weren't the same
On Friday, you came back I wanted to kiss you on Saturday
On Sunday we made love, now what are we gonna do?

[Verse 2]
As much as I, I want you, I don't wanna wreck a friend
I've already found in you
I've been there before and I can't ignore
How two friends became one but walked away with none

[Pre-Chorus]
I cannot risk a friend but the love is so good
I gotta make a choice I would if I could
I never thought we would be together, how can I address you?
"Hey lover?", "Hi friend!" "How ya doin'?", "Where ya been?"
I gotta make a choice

[Chorus]
Monday, a friend of mine, Tuesday, we played a game
Wednesday, you went away, Thursday, things weren't the same
On Friday, you came back I wanted to kiss you on Saturday
On Sunday we made love, now what are we gonna do?
Monday, a friend of mine, Tuesday, we played a game
Wednesday, you went away, Thursday, things weren't the same
On Friday, you came back I wanted to kiss you on Saturday
On Sunday we made love, now what are we gonna do?
(What are we gonna do? What are we gonna do?)

[George Benson guitar solo]

[Outro]
Monday
Things weren't the same
On Monday we made sweet sweet love, Tuesday, we played a game
On Sunday we made love, now what are we gonna do?

Monday, a friend of mine, Tuesday, we played a game
Wednesday, you went away

Mary J. Blige

Mary Jane Blige (b. Jan 11 1971) grew up in the projects of Yonkers, New York. A random decision to record a cover of “Caught Up in the Rapture” by Anita Baker in a pop-up recording booth at a mall led MJB to getting signed by Uptown Entertainment. After providing background vocals on Father MC’s hit single “I’ll Do 4 U” in 1990, a young intern at Uptown named Sean “Puffy” Combs ended up executive producing Mary’s 1992 debut album What’s The 411?. Fusing hip-hop beats with Mary’s soulful voice earned her the nickname “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul”.

She followed up her debut with a string of critically acclaimed albums, including 1994’s My Life and 1997’s Share My World, as well as hit singles such as “Not Gon' Cry,” “Family Affair,” “Be Without You,” and “Just Fine.”

She also collaborated with rappers on a number of tracks, including Jay-Z’s “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” Ghostface Killah’s “All That I Got is You,” Wyclef’s “911,” Common’s “Come Close,” and Method Man’s “I’ll Be There for You/All I Need to Get By,” which was a platinum hit and won the two of them a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group.
