[Intro]
This may seem all too confusing
How I could walk away from something so rare
But you see it got too demanding, yeah
And I just didn't care, I just didn't care, if I cared, if I cared

[Verse 1]
Lately, I've been left wanting, but not wanting you
Attraction that once was is no longer there, ooh
And it sucks to be taken for granted
When the veil is drawn and there's only air

[Chorus]
I had to walk away
Give up something I love
For what I loved even more
And save my tears for you

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 2]
Everything has lost its meaning, I had to let it go
To find myself, myself, and start something new, brand new
Forced to look deep in the mirror, face who I really am
Now it's just me, because I can't afford you

[Chorus]
I had to walk away
Give up something I love
For what I loved even more
And save my tears for you

[Post-Chorus]
I gave up something I love
For what I loved even more
And I saved my tears for you
In a vial and walked away

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 3]
You were so beautiful to look upon
I could see the light in your smile
Your eyes were the windows into your soul
Your body was heavenly just like the sky

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 4]
Until all your good looks betrayed you, which ain't much
Counted on your counterfeit smiles for too long
Your eyes are empty windows, broken
The body may be here but the soul is gone

[Outro]
I saved my tears for you in a vial
From every wicked thing that you did, that you said
To send away, buried with your love
So many tears in a vial, now that you're gone
And now that you're dead

Megadeth

After being kicked out of Metallica, Dave Mustaine decided to form a Thrash Metal band that not only rivaled his former band, but played faster, more technical Metal. Along with bassist David ‘Junior’ Ellefson and a revolving door of guitarists and drummers, Mustaine set the world afire as Megadeth became known as the world’s state-of-the-art Speed Metal band throughout the 80s and the early 90s. One of the Big Four of Thrash Metal, Megadeth remains one of Metal’s most popular acts today.

However, Dave Mustaine’s fledgling band got off to a shaky start. Initially unable to find like-minded individuals, it was not until an altercation with his (underage) downstairs neighbours Dave Ellefson and Greg Handevidt, that led to him buying them beer and forming the first incarnation of the band with drummer Dijon Carruthers in 1983.

The band was named after a political pamphlet that referred to a “megadeath” (one million deaths by nuclear explosion):
