[Verse 1]
Maybe it's the way your brain works
Maybe we don't use the right words
Baby, we're too stubborn, it hurts, it hurts
Oh
I wish you could see what you do
But you might hate yourself if you knew
When we're not fighting, I'm a stranger to you, to you

[Pre-Chorus]
And all your insecurities are taken out on me

[Chorus]
You can call me a cryer, but you hurt me bad
Tears run like water, so I'm not looking back
'Cause you're just a liar and all that we had
Is lost in the fire, burned into ashes
Burned into ashes
Mmm, mmm

[Verse 2]
I don't wanna tell you goodbye
But I feel like I'm wastin' my time
And I don't see you changin' your mind, your mind

[Pre-Chorus]
And all your insecurities are taken out on me
Take 'em out on me

[Chorus]
You can call me a cryer, but you hurt me bad
Tears run like water, so I'm not looking back
'Cause you're just a liar and all that we had
Is lost in the fire, burned into ashes

[Post-Chorus]
(Keep 'em burnin') Burned into ashes
(Keep 'em burnin') Oh, they're burned to ashes
(Keep 'em burnin') Burn into ashes
(Keep 'em burnin')

[Bridge]
Oh, I fell for every single word you ever said to me
And all your insecurities are taken out on me
Take 'em out on me, go ahead

[Chorus]
Call me a cryer, but you hurt me bad
Tears run like water, so I'm not looking back
'Cause you're just a liar and all that we had
Is lost in the fire and burned into ashes

[Post-Chorus]
(Keep 'em burnin') Said they're burned into ashes
(Keep 'em burnin') Oh, they're burned into ashes
(Keep 'em burnin') Burned into ashes
(Keep 'em burnin') Oh, they're burned into ashes

[Outro]
Burned into ashes

Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor is a pop singer-songwriter from Nantucket. Before launching her solo career, she wrote songs for the likes of Sia and Sabrina Carpenter. She entered pop stardom with the controversial but danceable body-positivity anthem “All About That Bass,” which led her 2015 debut LP, Title.

In 2016, Meghan released her sophomore effort Thank You, which was preceded by the smash single “NO.” Peaking at #3 on the Hot 100, top 20 track “Me Too” & the reggae-influenced “Better” supported the release of the album.

Staying reasonably quiet in 2017, Trainor dropped the single “I’m A Lady” for the “The The Lost Village.” Trainor underwent vocal surgery during the year and needed time to rest her voice before returning to the limelight.
