[Verse 1]
There's nowhere else I can run to
She's wretched, but she comforts me
And after everyone goes home
She's always there for me
And when the sun goes hell-bound
And the moon does resurrect the night
I will hide within her
Not much good has come out of the light

[Chorus 1]
After everyone goes home
And I'm left here on my own
I will, run straight to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back

[Chorus 2]
When they turn out all their lights
And I'm left to brood at night
Always, return to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back

[Post-Chorus 1]
Straight down, yeah

[Verse 2]
A lonely light in a window
Just longing for some company
Tragic, heartless, and hateful
But there's nothing as willing as she
And when the night has fallen
It falls hard and then it all begins
When she starts her calling
I feel my darkness growing from within

[Chorus 1]
After everyone goes home
And I'm left here on my own
I will, run straight to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back

[Chorus 2]
When they turn out all their lights
And I'm left to brood at night
Always, return to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back

[Post-Chorus 2]
Straight to Hell and back
I will, run straight to Hell and back... no

[Bridge]
I become two
We become one
Unbridled, unequal
Unholy, undone

The path is cut deep
The path is worn well
I follow my footsteps
To the warmth of Hell

The warmth of Hell

[Guitar Solo]

[Chorus 1]
After everyone goes home
And I'm left here on my own
I will, run straight to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back

[Post-Chorus 3]
Straight to Hell and back

[Chorus 2]
When they turn out all their lights
And I'm left to brood at night
Always, return to Hell and back
Return to Hell and back

[Outro]
Straight to Hell and back
Straight to Hell and back
I will, run straight to Hell and back
Straight down

Metallica

Like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden before, Metallica has managed to transcend the genre from which it was originated. To their metal fanbase they are considered one of the Big Four bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer; however Metallica is also one of the most commercially successful bands in all of rock music, having sold 110 million records including the 16x platinum Metallica, which stands as both the highest selling metal album of all time and most successful album of the past 25 years.

Metallica was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles after drummer Lars Ulrich placed an advert in the classifieds newspaper The Recycler, which was answered by singer/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield. They were soon joined by lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, who later formed Megadeth after being kicked out of the band because of his substance and alchohol abuse, and bassist Ron McGovney, a childhood friend of Hetfield. These two early members were replaced with Cliff Burton (who relocated the band to San Francisco) and ex-Exodus lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett to form the band’s classic line-up.

The band released three albums, 1983’s Kill ‘Em All, 1984’s Ride The Lightning and 1986’s Master of Puppets before the tragic and untimely death of Cliff Burton on September 27th, 1986.
