[Verse 1]
We know the way
But I turned my head to see if you would stay
We can laugh the day
Then I'm hoping we can throw the stones away

[Pre-Chorus]
Baby, don't you leave me standing here
Why you leave me waiting here
Now you got me here in tears

[Chorus]
Hold me tonight
Spread your love tonight
It's gonna be alright
Everything will be just fine
Love me tonight
(Tell me it'll be just alright)
It's gonna be alright
(Everything is gonna be just fine)
Everything's just fine
Yeah, everything will be just fine (Alright)

[Verse 2]
She wrote me a letter
That's burned into my heart
Set me free
(Shea in the dark)
Whispers in the dark
(Send me from these thoughts)
Un-break my heart
Don't let it fall apart

[Pre-Chorus]
Please stay this way
Don't you run away
I gotta [?] this dream
I'm gonna burn just like the sun

[Chorus]
Hold me tonight
Spread your love tonight
It's gonna be alright
Everything will be just fine
Love me tonight
(Tell me it'll be just alright)
It's gonna be alright
(Everything is gonna be just fine)
Everything's just fine
Yeah, everything will be just fine

[Verse 3]
Wake me up when everything is new
Girl you're smile always makes me cry
(Hold me, kiss me, touch me)

(It's alright, alright when you're with me)
(It's alright, alright)

The Jackson 5’s first four singles all peaked at number one on the Billboard 100, and soon after Michael pursued a solo career.

His breakthrough fifth album, 1979’s Off The Wall produced four top ten hits (including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”) and sold 20 million copies, establishing him as a household name. The album was followed with 1982’s Thriller, which became the best selling album of all time, and was the first album to feature seven top 10 singles, including “Billie Jean” and “Beat It.”
