Darlin' you know I'm leavin' in the mornin'
And it's true I might not be comin' back
But you don't need to go into mournin'
Because for love you will never lack

'Cause you're the Queen of the Go-Go Girls
You're laughin' while you work
But I don't ever seem to get the joke
You're smilin' at all the guys
In the shadows where they lurk
Gazing through their cigarette smoke

Well I've had a good time hangin' with you baby
In your fantasy world I've learned a lot
And I can't say that I won't miss you baby
And all the royal treatment that I got

Well, I guess I'll be goin' now I'm leavin'
But I won't forget the way you treated me
Don't give me too much of that cryin'
I know you'll be happy that you're free

'Cause you're the Queen of the Go-Go Girls
You're laughin' while you work
But I don't really see what's so funny
You're smilin' at all the guys
In the shadows where they lurk
So I'll just have to see you later honey
Yeah you're smilin' at all the guys
In the shadows where they lurk
So I'll just have to see you later honey

Mudcrutch

This Gainesville Florida band used to be called The Epics. Then someone in the band suggested the new name Mudcrutch. Tom says it wasn’t him; band mates say it was. It fell apart after moving to California. From its ashes Tom Petty built The Heartbreakers. Later in life, though, Tom got the band back together and they recorded two albums. Some of Tom’s best songs (“Hungry No More”, “I Forgive It All”, “Crystal River”) are on these records.
