Songwriter: Paul McCartney

[Verse 1]
I know it isn't easy to refuse
A lot of thoughts are flying through your head
Tell me this before you have to choose
Would you rather be alive or dead?

[Chorus 1]
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
Would you rather be alive or dead
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
It's so simple, it makes you want to cry

[Verse 2]
They ask you if you want to join in
You linger for a minute or so
Well, now's a perfect time to begin
Are you going to say yes or no?

[Chorus 1]
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
Are you going to say yes or no?
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
It's so simple, it makes you want to cry

[Chorus 3]
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Yes, if you love your life
Everybody will love you too

[Verse 3]
It's harder when you start to get around
I want you to remember what I said
I know you never like to let them down
But would you rather be alive or dead?

[Chorus 1]
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
Would you rather be alive or dead
It's as simple as that (simple as that)
It's so simple, it makes me want to cry
It's so simple, it makes you want to cry

[Chorus 3]
Yes, if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too

[Bridge]
Would you rather be alive or dead?
Would you rather be alive or dead?
It's as simple as that (it's as simple as that)
It's as simple as that (it's as simple as that)
It's as simple as that (it's as simple as that)

[Chorus 3]
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Yes, if you love your life
Everybody will love you too

[Outro]
And if you love, and if you love
And if your love

Paul McCartney

Sir James Paul McCartney, born June 18, 1942, is the single most successful music artist of all time. He found worldwide fame as the bass player and vocalist for The Beatles, and has continued to enjoy commercial success long after the band’s breakup.

His post-Beatles projects—the most lucrative of which was the band Wings, alongside then-wife Linda Eastman—have been met with mixed critical reception but he still retains a substantial public following, regularly conducting worldwide arena tours well into his later years.

His album sales with The Beatles, Wings and solo endeavours combined come to over 100 million, and his net worth was estimated to be approximately $1.2 billion circa 2018. He was knighted in 1997 and is known for his activism.
