[Ad Lib]
And uh, what is this? Oh this is State of Love and Trust
Busted down to pretext

[Verse 1]
State of love and trust as I busted down the pretext
Sin still plays and preaches, but to have an empty court, uh huh
And the signs are passin', grip the wheel, can't read it
Sacrifice receiving the smell that's on my hands, hands, yeah

[Chorus 1]
And I listen for the voice inside my head
Nothin', I'll do this one myself

[Verse 2]
Lay her down as priest does, should the Lord be accountin'
Will be in my honor, make it pain, painfully quick, uh huh
Promises are whispered in the age of darkness
Want to be enlightened like I want to be told the end, end, yeah

[Chorus 2]
And the barrel shakes aimed, oh directly at my head
Oh, help me, help me from myself
And I listen yeah, for the voice inside my head
Nothin', I'll do this one myself
Myself, myself

Yeah, yeah

[Bridge]
Hey, na na na na, hey that's something
Hey, na na na na, hey that's something
Hey, na na na na, hey that's something
Wanna back, back it away, yeah

[Chorus 3]
And I listen, yeah, for the voice inside my head
Nothin', I'll do this one myself
And the barrel waits, trigger shakes
Aimed right at my head, won't you help me
Help me from myself

Huu
Eoh, eoh, hee
Eoh, eoh, hee
Eoh, eoh
Eoh, eoh, hee
Eoh, eoh

[Outro]
Mm, state of love and trust
In a state of love and trust
In a state of love and trust
In a state of love and, yeah, yeah

Pearl Jam

Founded in 1990 in Seattle, Pearl Jam is one of the most successful bands out of the grunge movement, if not of the whole alternative rock scene from the early 90s. The group started with Stone Gossard (guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass), veterans of the proto-grunge scene, recording a demo along with local guitarist Mike McCready. Once the tape passed along, it attracted a San Diego-based singer, Eddie Vedder. Along with drummer Dave Krusen, they signed with Epic Records and released Ten in 1991, which by the following year was becoming one of the most successful debut albums ever.

Growing uncomfortable with success, the following albums went for a more anguished and experimental sound, and the band’s notorious activism had its most prominent case once they boycotted Ticketmaster, accusing them of price-gouging fans. In the meantime, various drummers passed through the band, with percussion only settling once Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron joined them in the tour for 1998’s Yield.

With 10 studio albums and various live recordings (including “Official Bootlegs” of basically every concert the band performed since 2000), Pearl Jam has sold nearly 32 million records in the U.S. and an estimated 60 million worldwide.
