The long and winding road
That leads to your door
Will never disappear
I've seen that road before
It always leads me here
Lead me to your door

The wild and windy night
That the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
Crying for the day
Why leave me standing here?
Let me know the way

Many times I've been alone
And many times I've cried
Anyway, you'll never know
The many ways I've tried

But still they lead me back
To the long, winding road
You left me standing here
A long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to your door

Many times I've been alone
And many times I've cried
Anyway, you'll never know
The many ways I've tried

But still they lead me back
To the long, winding road
You left me standing here
A long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to your door

Peter Frampton

Peter Kenneth Frampton was the founding guitarist of supergroup Humble Pie, but is most famous for the success that followed his solo live album, Frampton Comes Alive!, which exploited the relatively unknown talkbox guitar effect to create a unique sound that became strongly associated with Frampton himself.

Frampton was something of a musical prodigy, getting his start in the English pop band The Herd when he was 16. The Herd had several hits in the UK, before Frampton joined with other pop stars to form Humble Pie.
