Some people give up on the money
Some people give up for the pain
Some people give up for no reason
Unable to start again
Then they give up for the promise
On a ticket that they can't sell

Then they give up on each other
Before the truth they'll tell
And our days are gone
And the days are gone

You can give up for confusion
Too afraid to take another step
And all your dreams come crashing down
For a moment you'd like to forget

And in that tiny moment
You can change the course of time
Then your luck runs out
Up the water spout
Cut down in your prime

And our days are gone
And your days are gone

In the whispers of young lovers
Who cannot organize their thoughts
That they for the first time
The sweet sadness of love's been bought

What do you do with such a thing
So powerful so frail
Holding hands you jump in the water
A story only dante could tell

And our days are gone
And your days are gone

Well I'm sorry for what has happened
And I guess that you are too
And here we are lost and forgotten
The price we pay for what we do

But I want you to know that I loved you both
The best way that I knew how
Some bad mistakes our soul will take
Don't give up on us now
And our days are gone

And our days are gone
And our days are gone
