Songwriter: Mick Hucknall

You came, and how you've changed it
I've learned so much too
I've yearned so much for this
And now it's come true

Hearts earn a little happiness
From how you give
I've learned so much with you
I've learned how to live

With a smile like a view on a magic garden
Eyes from the dew of a crystal dawn

How can love give you more
How can love give me more

No shame to shout about it
No blame while love's so new
I've turned the volume down
It just hurts without you

Hearts burn with loving passion
Heads turn to look at you
I'm sure, yes very certain
I'll be gazing at you with

With a smile like a view on a mystic garden
Eyes from the dew of a crystal morn
A smile like a view on a wonderful morning
Eyes from the dew of a crystal dawn

How can love give you more
How can love give me more
How can love give you more
How can love give me more

With a smile like a view on a mystic garden
Eyes from the dew of a crystal dawn

How can love give you more
How can love give me more
How can love give you more
How can love give me more

Love gave me more
Love gave me more

Simply Red

Simply Red is a British soul and pop band. The first incarnation of the band was a punk group called The Frantic Elevators, whose seven-year run produced limited releases on local labels and ended in 1984 upon critical acclaim for their final single, “Holding Back the Years”.

By early 1985, Mick Hucknall and manager Elliot Rashman had assembled a band of local session musicians and begun to attract record company attention. The group adopted the name “Red” (after Hucknall’s nickname, denoting his hair colour) but then Mick decided it would sound better with the addition of the word ‘Simply.’

Since the mid 1980s, the band has sold more than 50 million albums.
