[Verse 1]
One more teardrop
The surface tension breaks
And if the surface tension breaks
Then I will pour my pain and more

Then my heart stops
What will it take?
'Cause if it breaks, if it breaks
'Cause if it does, I'll turn to dust

[Pre-Chorus]
One foot in the past
And one foot in the future
I need to take a class
On staying right here with you

[Chorus]
I'm drowning in my history
Prisoner of past defeats
Tell me what the future holds
Tell me baby
Terrified of things to come
Paralyzed, I cannot run
Tеll me what the future holds
Tеll me baby

[Verse 2]
Bound and faithless, I turn to you
Pray you'll help me through
Pray you'll help me through
I'm on my knees, can you help me?

Stuck in quicksand, I think of us
I think of us, in my mirage
I can't get out
And I'm scared now

[Pre-Chorus]
One foot in the past
And one foot in the future
I need to take a class
On staying right here with you

[Chorus]
I'm drowning in my history
Prisoner of past defeat
Tell me what the future holds
Tell me baby
Terrified of things to come
Paralyzed, I cannot run
Tell me what the future holds
Tell me baby

[Bridge]
So kiss me 'till the break of dawn
And I will lie here in your arms
And I will try to live tonight
Like it's the last day of my life
'Cause I love you, baby
Please save me from my mind

[Chorus]
I'm drowning in my history
Prisoner of past defeats
Tell me what the future holds
Tell me baby
Terrified of things to come
Paralyzed, I cannot run
Tell me what the future holds
Tell me baby

[Outro]
I'm drowning in my history (Ah-ah-ah)
Prisoner of past defeats (Ah-ah-ah)
Tell me what the future holds (Ah-ah-ah)
Tell me baby (Ah-ah-ah)

Terrified of things to come (Ah-ah-ah)
Paralyzed, I cannot run (Ah-ah-ah)
Tell me what the future holds (Ah-ah-ah)
Tell me baby

Steps

Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian “H” Watkins. Steps formed in May 1997 by Barry Upton and Steve Crosby and released four studio albums, three compilation albums and seventeen singles.

Steps achieved a series of charting singles between 1997 and 2001 including two number-one singles in the UK (one a double A-side), two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive top 5 singles in the UK and a string of hits throughout Europe. The group has sold over 20 million records worldwide in addition to acquiring a BRIT Award nomination in 1999 for Best Newcomer, while supporting Britney Spears on tour the same year. When Richards and Watkins departed, the group disbanded on 26 December 2001. Their penultimate single reached number five in the UK charts while their final album of greatest hits, Gold (2001), was the group’s second number-one album in the UK.

In 2017, the group returned with their fifth studio album, Tears on the Dancefloor, its lead single, “Scared of the Dark”, and a 22-date tour, Party on the Dancefloor. Following the success of “Scared of the Dark,” two further singles were released, “Story of a Heart” and “Neon Blue.” A deluxe edition of the album, titled Tears on the Crying at the Disco, was released on October 27, with the lead single called “Dancing with a Broken Heart.”
