I woke up this mornin'
Wishin' you were here
Another cup of coffee
And then you appeared
A crystal vision
Shinin' through the rain
Smilin' through my window pane
In the mornin' traffic
I turn on the radio
And the song thats playin'
Is one that we used to know
When we were dancin' slowly
Under the mirror ball
You were singin' to me
I felt like we had it all
It was our adventure
We let it slip away
Gonna make it like it was before this day
(I will be your witness)
That much I can do
(That much I can do)
I wanna tell the world
(I just want to tell the world)
How much I'm missin' you
(I will be your witness)
I, you know it's true
(Don't you know it's true)
I wanna testify
(I just want to testify)
How much I'm lovin' you
Did you ever notice
Just what you mean to me?
You're the piece of the puzzle
That makes my world complete
I need your freedom
I need your company
Let me tell you how it's goin' to be
(I will be your witness)
That much I can do
(That much I can do)
I wanna tell the world
(I just want to tell the world)
How much I'm missin' you
I'll be your alibi tonight
I'll make everything all right
I will be your defense
When life makes no sense
Baby you just wait and see
It's a crazy, crazy world
Woke up this morning
Wishin' you were here
Poured a cup of coffee
And then you appeared
Such a great adventure
I won't let it slip away
You know I need you every night and every day
(I will be your witness)
That much I can do
(That much I can do)
I wanna tell the world
(I just want to tell the world)
How much I'm missin' you
(I will be your witness)
I, don't you know it's true
(Don't you know it's true)
I wanna testify
(I just want to testify)
How much I'm lovin' you, oh
(I will be your witness)
I will be your witness
(What else can I do?)
What else can I do?
I just want to tell the world
How much I'm lovin' you

Styx

Styx is a rock band from Chicago formed in 1970. They enjoyed great success with pop rock and hard rock songs, and became famous for their power ballads and album releases of the mid 1970s and early 80s.

The band has gone through some famously nasty internal struggles, drug problems, illnesses and deaths, but continues to perform today (with a significantly altered line-up). Tommy Shaw, from Montgomery, AL, left but returned to the band. Drummer John Panozzo developed a debilitating drinking problem and ultimately died. Dennis DeYoung developed an acute case of photosensitivity, and he left the band. They fought among themselves for control of the band name. Glen Burtnik also left and returned, this time on bass, to replace Chuck Panozzo (John’s brother), who had also left the band. (whew.)
