There must be somethin' out there
There must be somethin' real
Well this mystery's a nightmare
And I don't know what to feel
Well I heard you had a hell of a time there
I guess it chilled you down to the bone
If there's one thing I can tell you
It'll never leave you less than alone
In spite of everything you told me
In spite of everything I've heard
There's nothin' here that I call holy
Not a solitary word
Could you tell me what it's like on the outside
Were you really lost and out of control?
Were you reachin' for your freedom
When the gatekeeper called for the toll?
Ohh, what have they done to you?
Where, where have you gone?
Ohh, I wanna run to you
In spite of what you're sayin'
I still can't let you go
Well they say you witnessed some kind of nightmare
Was it somethin' real or nothin' at all?
Or is your imagination all that's they'll catch you
If you start fall
Ohh, what have they done to you?
Where, where have you gone?
Ohh, I wanna run to you
In spite of what you're sayin'
Where have you gone?
Ohh, what have they done to you?
Where, where have you gone?
Ohh, I wanna run to you
In spite of what you're sayin'
I still can't let you go
What have they done to you?
Ohh, what have they done to you, mm?
Ohh

Styx

Styx is a rock band from Chicago formed in 1970. They enjoyed great success with pop rock and hard rock songs, and became famous for their power ballads and album releases of the mid 1970s and early 80s.

The band has gone through some famously nasty internal struggles, drug problems, illnesses and deaths, but continues to perform today (with a significantly altered line-up). Tommy Shaw, from Montgomery, AL, left but returned to the band. Drummer John Panozzo developed a debilitating drinking problem and ultimately died. Dennis DeYoung developed an acute case of photosensitivity, and he left the band. They fought among themselves for control of the band name. Glen Burtnik also left and returned, this time on bass, to replace Chuck Panozzo (John’s brother), who had also left the band. (whew.)
