[Intro]
I tell you I can visualise it all
Too real it all seems
But once again, runnin' away with me
Once again‚ runnin' away with me
This couldn't be a dream
Runnin' away with me
Runnin' away with me

[Verse 1]
And I stop myself for a minute
See if my heart's still in it
Say a few things just to win it
Funny how it works out‚ innit?

[Pre-Chorus]
And I told her‚ "Some things have their time
How can I be yours if you're not mine?"
She said, "They should take this pain
And give it a name"

[Chorus]
Tonight, I wish I was your boy
(Run away from me‚ run away from me)
I (Run away from me, run away from me)
Tonight, I think I fucked it royally
(Run away from me‚ run away from me)
(Run away from me, run away from me)

[Verse 2]
Give yourself a new name
Change your voice on the train
Have her complain about your fame
Tell me that it's all a rigged game

[Pre-Chorus]
She told me, "Some things just take time
How can you be sure if you won't try?"
She said, "I guess I'll take this pain
Instead of your name"

[Chorus]
Tonight, I wish I was your boy
(Run away from me, run away from me)
I (Run away from me, run away from me)
Tonight, I think I fucked it royally
(Run away from me, run away from me)
(Run away from me, run away from me)

[Bridge]
And it's been replaying on my mind
Unfortunately, I've been to this place in my life
Far too many times
Sunday's nearly over, so I'll just lie awake
Tonight, I wish I was your boy, I
Tonight, I think I fucked it royally

[Chorus]
And tonight, I wish I was your boy
(Run away from me, run away from me)
I (Run away from me, run away from me, runnin' away with me)
Tonight, I think I fucked it royally
(Run away from me, run away from me)
(Run away from me, run away from me, runnin' away with me)

[Outro]
Runnin' away with me
Runnin' away with me

The 1975

The 1975 consists of Matthew Healy (vocals/guitar), Adam Hann (lead guitar), George Daniel (drums), and Ross MacDonald (bass), all of whom are from Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. The four band members, now based in Manchester, met in Secondary School and began playing together as teenagers.

The eclectic four-piece band have amorphous drifts between brooding art rock, crisp electronica, dancefloor R&B, and 80’s gloss pop, as well as lead singer Matthew “Matty” Healy’s stories of lust, intoxication, and the unabashed grittiness of modern youth. Common themes in their lyrics range anywhere from dysfunctional relationships, to the failure of modernity.

Throughout 2012, The 1975 released multiple EPs, which sparked the start of their careers. The following year, 2013, their self-titled debut album took the world by storm. From 2014 until 2015 the band’s focus was on touring, though they did reveal through photos on social media that their next sound would reflect a departure from their previously black-and-white aesthetic.
