[Verse 1]
Yeah it's cold and it's gray
I'm in love with this day 'cause it's Christmas
Yeah the light in your eyes
And the smile on your face says it's Christmas
It's a word or a smile that can change someone's life
Or some change in your pocket, just to get through the night

[Chorus]
Wish on stars above
For the ones we love
This is Christmas
Drove a thousand miles
Just to see you smile
This is Christmas

Sing with me softly my dear
'Cause it's all I can give you this year
This is Christmas

[Verse 2]
It's get harder each year
To believe in what's real, I need Christmas
It's your love that I miss
Yеah your heart and your kiss make it Christmas
And the gifts that your bring always makе my heart sing
Not the things that you buy but the love that you bring

[Chorus]
Wish on stars above
For the ones we love
This is Christmas
Drove a thousand miles
Just to see you smile
This is Christmas

Sing with me softly my dear
'Cause it's all I can give you this year
This is Christmas

[Bridge]
And it's late in December
I need to remember
You were left when I needed a friend
So I'll fill up the car and we'll chase down the star
That will lead us back home again

[Chorus]
Wish on stars above
For the ones we love
This is Christmas
Drove a thousand miles
Just to see you smile
This is Christmas

Hold the feeling in
Fill my heart with cheer
'Cause it's Christmas

Sing with me softly my dear
'Cause it's all I can give you this year
This is Christmas
This is Christmas

The Goo Goo Dolls

The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, NY, during one of Buffalo’s most prolific underground music phases. The band was formed by John Rzeznik (Also known as Johnny Rzeznik), lead singer and songwriter for the band, with bassist/vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska. Mike Malinin later replaced Tutuska as the band’s drummer.

The band has released twelve studio albums between 1986 and 2017, but they are best known for platinum-selling A Boy Named Goo (1995) and Dizzy Up the Girl (1998). These mid- to late 1990s albums contain the Goo Goo Dolls' biggest hits to date – Name and Iris most notably, but also Slide, Black Balloon, and Dizzy

These hits made the Goo Goo Dolls a household name for radio-friendly “prom night power balladry” (as one Rolling Stone review put it), but the band’s early output was often far rougher musically, melding the band’s edgier punk influences with an often soft sensibility in the mold of the band’s early heroes, The Replacements. One can hear these influences on many songs on A Boy Named Goo though these affinities would fade after Dizzy Up the Girl.
