How, come on, you want it
How, come on, you want it want it
Come on, you want it

[Verse]
What ya'll get it ain't haunted, called it
I see some of y'all thirsty for it
Straight frontin' y'all
When it come down to the combat, dog, I'm a workaholic
My swag
Touches every enemy within my clutches (uh)
Black bringin' that ruckus (uh-huh)
And I'm puttin' that lean on all you suckers

Black! Your bone crushes
Every opponent suffers (uh)
Your tone hushes from punches
Don't you like percussion?
Don't lose your life for nothin'
You don't wanna try to touch 'em
No competition, listen:
This ain't open fo' discussion

[Chorus]
How you want it, want it
Come on, you want it
How, come on, you want it, want it
How you want it, come on

[Verse]
My sound entrenches each of the five
Senses and hold in shock, value of electrified
Fences you mortify, pressurize, best defy
We slide into the next dimension, time to exercise, recognize

Your spine tingle, darts mingle
While this line sting you
It's tricks on your state of mind
Somebody's watching you
Just look alert-alive
'Cause only one survive
No use of lyin' to yourself
You're standing eye-to-eye

[Chorus]
How you want it, want it
Come on, you want it
How, come on, you want it, want it
How you want it, come on

How you want it, want it
Come on, you want it
How, come on, you want it, want it

The Roots

The world’s premiere hip-hop band, The Roots were formed in Philadelphia in 1987 by MC Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and drummer and bandleader Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. Since those early days, the band has weathered changes in personnel and record labels while performing hundreds of shows a year and releasing a string of well-regarded (if not always top-selling) albums.

While the musicianship of Thompson and the other band members, as well as their seemingly limitless repertoire, gets most of the attention, real hip-hop fans know that the rapping skills of Black Thought (along with former group member Malik B.) are the group’s hidden weapon. Thought, one of the few MCs brave enough to go toe to toe with Big Pun, handles any groove the band throws at him with aplomb, style, and flash.

Today, The Roots are seen by millions every night as the house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a move that has given the group the chance to indulge its not-insignificant comic side.
