(Alright here we go ?)

Baby baby
I don't understand it
I hope you never take a swing across town
That would leave me stranded
Oh little honey pie
There's a lot of people lonely
I've had a few of them scratchin' my back
Wantin' to control me

They say only fools believe
Anything is guaranteed
But when I need you
Baby you come through
When I need you
Baby you come through

Oh baby
Nothin' will console me
I could use somebody scratchin' my back
How high will you hold me?

I could never quite believe
Anything is guaranteed
But when I need you
Baby you come through
When I need you
Baby you come through

Hey

Hear me knockin' on your door
Oh what's the matter baby
I guess that's what friends are for

Baby, baby
I'm about to lose it
Little girl it isn't easy
Can you get me through it

They say only fools believe
Anything is guaranteed
But when I need you
Baby you come through
When I need you
Baby you come through
When I need you
Baby you come through
When I need you

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – an L.A.-based gang of sharp-dressed garage-rock refugees from Gainsville, Florida – released their debut LP in November 1976, featuring two tracks which are now part of their long list of hits, “Breakdown” and “American Girl.”

Since that first LP in ‘76, the band’s style has epitomized and largely defined the American “heartland rock” movement – a vintage-guitar twang, hard lyric truth, and searing vocal attitude.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been nominated for 17 Grammy awards and sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands of all-time.
