Well, back in the past, when I was treated so coldly
My love life was a darn disgrace
Needed someone to love and hold me
That's one of the reasons that I was out of place

So this is love? Well, she finally kissed me
Had me all worked up inside
I was in love, but Cupid missed me
She upped and left, and I almost died

But I was young, and I was far from lonely
I been that way for a long, long year
Needed a girl to call my one and only
Is that you?

You think you got the int'rest
C'mon and take the time
'Cause you know I wanna be
Yours in a simple rhyme

Well, ain't life grand when you finally hit it?
I'm always a sucker for a real good time
Woke up in life to find I almost missed it
Ain't I glad that love is blind?

But I was young, and I was far too crazy
Been that way for a long, long time
Needed a girl, but I was just too lazy
Now that I've found you:

You think you got the int'rest
C'mon and take the time
I'm gonna be
Yours in a simple
Rhyme

She made the mountains sing
Birds against an icy sky
And I heard bells ringin'
I think I heard an angel sigh

She said:
"There'll be times
There will be times

You're gonna hear the angels singin'
You're gonna hear the angels sing
They'll say
'Ah
Ah.'"

[Guitar solo]
Ow!
Oh, yeah!
Ow!

You think you got the int'rest
C'mon and take the time
I'm gonna be
Yours in a simple

Van Halen

Van Halen is one of the most iconic American rock bands of all time. Formed in Pasadena, California in 1972, the group’s primary line-up consisted of Eddie Van Halen on guitar, Alex Van Halen on drums, David Lee Roth providing lead vocals, and Michael Anthony providing bass duties and significant harmonies.

Their first six albums, recorded and released between 1977–1984, are considered to be classics and pioneering efforts in the field of hard rock. Eddie Van Halen’s groundbreaking guitar sound and techniques completely changed the landscape of music and radio culture in the 1980s. His and brother Alex’s virtuosity, along with David Lee Roth’s charisma and bassist Michael Anthony’s foundational contributions garnered the band early comparisons to their predecessors—Led Zeppelin—a group who had a profound influence on them. Though, even more so than Jimmy Page, Eddie cites Eric Clapton as having the biggest impact on his playing.

In 1977, after recording a demo with Gene Simmons (who wanted the band to change their name to “Daddy Longlegs”) they were introduced to KISS‘ management, who told Simmons they wouldn’t sign them
