[Intro]
*Phone rings*
Hey
How you doing?
Folks been saying they see your mugshot on the news
Well, I'm not lookin’ at that, you know
I had surgery, I got other things to think about, I got a lot of pain
But, we all do
I know you need to know we're gonna get through it
Everything's gonna be okay

[Chorus: BJ the Chicago Kid]
Hurt a lot of people ’cause we hurt ('Cause we hurt)
Been in the game a long time, a nigga feet hurt (A nigga feet hurt)
We all get doubted sometimes as believers
But shit don't change, until you feel the pain of a rebirth (Rebirth, rebirth)
Rebirth (Rebirth, rebirth)

[Verse 1: Vic Mensa]
In the same month that my debut album droppеd, my pops had surgery on his neck
It left him paralyzеd, I saw the fear in his eyes
Reflectin' in mine, next to my mom, watching 'em grieve
Wipin' tears from her face with my heart on my sleeve
Throwin' up the Roc as I stood on stage with Hov
While my own father could barely walk like he two years old
And I'm gone on the road
So my mental state feels like the interstate, all of the travellin’ took its toll
Googoo had a DJ set first night in Toronto
I was off the d’USSÉ, swimmin' in Ace of Spades
I hit the club owner’s brother over the head with the bottle
I was at my breakin' point, I couldn't contain my rage
All the aggression that I was reflectin' was just depression
Looking at album sales lower than I expected
I wrote my odyssey on The Autobiography
Felt like Capitol ain’t pull through with all that they promised me
Tatted Alexandria name on my arm as a promise ring
Then I broke it like a joke, now I'm laughin' at myself
It's easier to place the blame on everybody else
I'm yellin', "Fuck the world", but it's really a cry for help

[Chorus: BJ the Chicago Kid]
Hurt a lot of people 'cause we hurt ('Cause we hurt)
Been in the game a long time, a nigga feet hurt (A nigga feet hurt)
We all get doubted sometimes as believers
But shit don't change, until you feel the pain of a rebirth (Rebirth, rebirth)
Rebirth (Rebirth, rebirth)

[Verse 2: Vic Mensa & BJ the Chicago Kid]
Drowning in controversy, I made it my identity
I can be guilty of lackin' empathy
Tryna play the hero, it made me a public enemy
On point with my message but too blunt with my delivery
I should've learned not to mix award shows with Hennessy
Point a finger, that's three fingers back in your direction
Sometimes you gotta take a L or two to learn the lesson
I dissed a mother's dead son, I'm sorry Ms. Jackson
I take the heat, I gotta let it burn with my confessions
In the midst of the madness, my baby sister had a psychotic break
Spent Christmas in a psych ward
Not knowing if she's in good hands, like Allstate
That was a tall order for the fam, she's only 5'4"
Now I got my personal all tangled on my mic cord
Could either break you or make you appreciate life more
It only differs in perspective, you witness my crucifixion
Welcome to my resurrection
(Rebirth, rebirth, rebirth, rebirth, rebirth, rebirth)

[Post-Chorus: Vic Mensa, BJ The Chicago Kid & Peter CottonTale]
Oh-ooh, ooh-oh, ooh-ooh, oh-oh
We'll fly away, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
We're still alive, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
Back from the dead, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
We're still alive, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
Back from the dead
I'll pick you up when you're drowning, I'll hold you down
I'll be your sun and provider and your protector (Your protector)
I'll be the one that you follow when you feel down (Down, down, down)
Come follow me to the sun and we'll fly away
Down, down, down
Fly Away
We'll fly away

[Outro: Vic Mensa, BJ The Chicago Kid & Peter CottonTale]
Fly away (We can go high-high-high)
We'll fly away
Fly away (We can go)
We'll fly away
Fly away (We can go high-high)
We'll fly away (Go right now)
Fly away
We'll fly away
Fly away
We'll fly away
Fly away (Higher and higher)
We'll fly away
Fly away
We'll fly away (Until God comes)
Fly away
We'll fly away (Higher and higher)
Fly away
We'll fly away (Fly away)
Fly away
We'll fly away
Fly away
We'll fly away
