[Intro: Akon & (Whitney Houston)]
Konvict
Akon and Whitney, yeah
(Oh yeah)

[Verse 1: Whitney Houston]
Did you ever wish you could get back
Something that you did in your past?
If it wasn't for me, I know what we had
Was definitely gonna last
I admit that we say some things
We don't mean when we're mad
But I realize that I've been foolish
I never should have turned my back

[Pre-Chorus: Whitney Houston]
'Cause it's a cold world when you're out there all alone (All alone)
So many times that I wanted to just pick up the phone (The phone)
And tell you ooh baby, baby, I missed your loving so
I ain't holding back no more, your girl is coming home

[Chorus 1: Whitney Houston]
And I want you to love me (Like I never left)
And I want you to hold me (Like I never left)
And I want you to touch me (Like I never left)
Come give me what I'm missing, yeah (Like I never left, yeah)

[Verse 3: Akon]
Do you think (Think) we can pick up
Where we left before the day?
That I told you it was over, packed my things
And moved away

[Bridge: Akon]
'Cause I see (See) that without you
My world is just an empty place
Taking one step away from you feels like a million miles away

[Pre-Chorus: Akon]
'Cause it's a cold world when you're out there all alone (All alone)
So many times I wanted to just pick up the phone (The phone)
And tell you ooh baby, baby, I missed your loving so
But I ain't holding back no more, 'cause your man is coming home

[Chorus 1: Whitney Houston]
And I want you to love me (Like I never left)
And I want you to hold me (Like I never left)
And I want you to touch me (Like I never left)
Come give me what I'm missing (Like I never left, oh yeah)

[Chorus 2: Whitney Houston]
I had enough, I miss you bad
What I did, leave in the past
Yes, your girl is coming back
Like I never left (Like I never left)

[Verse 4: Akon]
Oh, said back in the building, back on the block
You and me together, we back on top
Kind of love we got, it just don't stop
Like I never left

[Chorus 2: Whitney Houston]
I had enough, I miss you bad (I miss you bad)
What I did, leave in the past (yeah)
Yes, your girl is coming back
Like I never left, left

[Verse 4: Akon & (Whitney Houston)]
Said back in the building, back on the block
(I'm coming back home, boy)
You and me together, we back on top (Yeah)
Kind of love we got, it just don't stop
Like I never left

[Bridge: Whitney Houston]
(And I want you to love me)
Like I never left
And I want you to hold me
Like I never left
(Oh, and I want you to hold me)
And I want you to touch me
Like I never left (Yeah)
Come give me what I'm missing (Oh)
Like I never left, yeah
(And I want you to love me)

[Outro: Whitney Houston]
Oh baby, come love me, come hold me
Come touch me, oh, come give me
Like I never left (I never left you, baby)
Oh baby, come love me, come hold me
Come touch me, oh, come give me
Like I never left (I never left you, baby)

Whitney Houston

Known across the pop culture spectrum as the “Queen of Pop” and “The Voice” for her mezzo-soprano octave, Whitney Elizabeth Houston left an indelible impression upon pop culture. She is one of the most successful artists of all time, with more than 200 million albums sold worldwide.

Born August 9, 1963, Houston grew up singing as part of the gospel choir at her local church. She was surrounded by powerful voices in her own family (mother Cissy Houston, cousin Dionne Warwick, godmother Darlene Love, honorary aunt Aretha Franklin). After working as a model and commercial actress in the early 1980s, Whitney was discovered during a New York City nightclub performance, which led to her signing a contract with Clive Davis at Arista Records. Whitney’s first song was a duet in 1984 with Teddy Pendergrass on “Hold Me.”

She released her self-titled début album the following year, which catapulted her into superstardom as the album topped the Billboard 200 for 14 non-consecutive weeks before becoming the top-selling album of 1986, eventually achieving diamond status in the US and selling over 22 million copies worldwide. The singles “Saving All My Love For You,” “How Will I Know,” and “Greatest Love of All” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved platinum status. The music video for “How Will I Know” received heavy rotation on MTV, which was uncommon for Black women at the time. She took home the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy Award for “Saving” in 1986; her performance at the Grammys of “Saving” later won her an Emmy award. She also won seven American Music Awards between 1986 and 1987.
