With his distinctive flow and catchy ad-libs, Headie One is one of the most prominent rising stars in the UK music scene. Coming from the crime-ridden Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, North London, he began making music in 2010 along with other members of Star Gang, the group that would eventually become OFB, as “Headz.”
In 2014, he released his debut Headz or Tails, and soon began to make drill music with his fellow OFB older RV. The duo co-released several popular mixtapes including 2016’s Sticks and Stones and 2017 project Drillers x Trappers. In 2017, he released his second solo The One. On this album was his song “Know Better”, which gained significant notoriety when the media linked it to a series of shootings and stabbings that happened around that time.
From this, Headie continued to release music, culminating in the release of The One Two in 2018. In 2019, Headie had significant commercial success, with songs such as “18HUNNA” with Dave, peaking at number 6 on the UK singles charts, and “I Spy” with Krept & Konan, which peaked at number 18. He also released the long-awaited follow-up project Drillers x Trappers II with RV, featuring tracks with Unknown T, DigDat and Kojo Funds.
