Ronnie Lane, born 1 April 1946, was best known as a founding member of two successful English rock Small Faces and Faces.

After quitting the Faces in 1973, he formed his own group, “Slim Chance”, with whom he recorded three studio albums. Aside from this, he also made several collaborative projects with the likes of Pete Townshend.

During the recording of Rough Mix, one of his collaborative albums with Townshend, Lane was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, although carried on touring and recording. On the 4th of June 1997, Lane succumbed to pneumonia, in the final stages of his progressive multiple sclerosis.
