Swedish House Mafia is a super group consisting of the three successful Swedish DJs – Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello – founded in 2008. They called an end to their group career in March 2013.
Five years later, March 25th 2018, the trio reunited at the 20 year anniversary of Ultra Music festival in Miami closing out the festival as a “surprise” guest. The weeks leading up to the festival was filled with rumors pointing at the group coming together again, rumors that reached their peak when different teasers started to show up around the festival and Miami. The rumors was fully confirmed when the trio entered the stage and Axwell once again got to do the classic introduction “We are the Swedish House Mafia.”
Around seven months later, October 22, at a press conference in Stockholm the trio officially announced that the group have reunited. It was preceded by a countdown in the days leading up to the announcement.
