[Verse 1]
No question when I was younger I held some dumb beliefs
I used some words I shouldn't have said, I learned them in the streets
I read some sci-fi and played Super Nintendo
That's why I was so drawn to this story in a book called Ender's Game,
See Ender he was smaller, and he learned how to fight
And out of school that little kid he did alright
And about that time I was so lost at school
And after class I'd go down to the local shop
And buy some X-Men comics too

See Superman, he was never my thing
More content in watching Magneto just do his thing
And Ender's Game became the speaker for the dead in Xenoside
And read the last page of Children of the Mind
But I put those books aside because I found the man who made them
Was full of irrational hatred, I read them in his statements
I made it a conscious decision to stop reading the series then
That's when Ender's Game truly came to an end

[Hook]
If Superman was real
You know I'd think he'd feel
He wouldn't want a man of hate to tell his story
If Superman was real
You know the Man of Steel
He'd say all people could just share in the glory

[Verse 2]
In the sun because it shines on all shapes and colors
Sisters and brothers, he'd want humanity to just love one another
Whether same-sex or hetero, he'd say it's better though
If you find love don't let it go, you are not alone
Now that I'm older though, I've learned from past mistakes
Back when I was an ignorant ingrate I've changed my ways
That's why I can't forgive the arc of the creator
Because I know that views can change later
But Card you're still a hater
And hate has got no place nowhere on Superman's face
Or on the dirt on his boots, for every tear on his cape
He fought for something great
And greatness lies in helping the world come together
For every Lex Luthor neo-con whatever
And we can all change for the better
And there's few things that's better through stormy weather
Whether rain or shine, you know that S on his chest
Stands forever, that's why Superman is just better
Than some author with a record of hate
And believe me yo I used to be a fan of his, every book was great
And though I buy Superman sometimes today
I think this is gonna make me go back to my high school ways
