[Verse 1]
Standing there on a road that leads to anywhere
Like a child left in the wilderness, standing there penniless
Wanting to be the best
Here's a place where life runs at a different pace
Where love is just convenient, none are obedient
And we are subservient
Look at me, I'm a girl that some may preconceive
Why do they try and generalize? Why are they antagonizing me?
But something I can't control

[Pre-Chorus]
That I want you
You know I'll never stop 'til I've gotcha
You'll never be quite the same when I rock you
I'm not the kind of girl that you thought I was
You'll have a good time

[Chorus]
Because I want you
I'm breaking down the walls until I have you, feel you
Show you the time of your life

[Verse 2]
Here and I wonder how we've come this far
In a world that does not recognize
Women are victimized
What does that symbolize?
Why do I want the things I usually criticize?
It may be self destructiveness
Or maybe it's emptiness inside
But something I can't control

[Pre-Chorus]
That I want you
You know I'll never stop until I've got ou
You'll never be quite the same when I rock you
I'm not the kind of girl that you thought I was
You'll have a good time

[Chorus]
Because I want you
I'm breaking down the walls until I have you, feel you
Show you the time of your life

[Verse 3]
It's a lonely road and no one knows the way that I feel
I'm not giving up now
I'll never try to justify, they'll never understand
You'll be a happy man
You'll have the time of your life

[Bridge]
It's something, it's something
It's something that I can't control

[Pre-Chorus]
You know I'll never stop 'til I've gotcha
You'll never be quite the same when I rock ya
I'm not the kind of girl that you thought I was
You'll have a good time

[Chorus]
Because I want you
I'm breaking down the walls until I have you, feel you
Show you the time of your life

[Bridge]
The time of your life
The time of your life
I'll show you the time of your life
I'll let you have the time of your life

[Outro]
The time of your life
I'll let you have the time of your life

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. At age 6, she began taking piano lessons, and by the time she was 9, she was writing her own songs.

When she was 11, Morissette joined the cast of a Nickelodeon children’s show called You Can’t Do That on Television, and saved up her earnings. In 1987, she used them to self-release her first track, “Fate Stay With Me.” The song caught the attention of record label MCA Canada; at age 14, Morissette signed a contract with the company. She released a self-titled album, Alanis, in 1991, which went platinum. Quickly following up the success of her first album, Morissette released Now Is The Time a year later, though it did not reach the same level of popularity.

In 1994 Morissette moved to Los Angeles teamed up with industry veteran Glen Ballard, and she began to approach songwriting more organically.
