Another day another trouble
I just wanna give in
When things seemed right
They just went wrong
Have I been hoping for too long
Once or twice I've been beaten down
And my face been kicked around
Sometimes I felt I wanted to scream

What I need, what I need
Was to change my situation
Find a new direction
As tough as it seems
What I need, what I need
Was to focus my intentions
Pick up the pieces
And build build back the dream

CHORUS:
Because I believe that's all that I need
The strength and devotion is all that I need
And I, I'll be all that I need
And I'll hold me head up high that's all that I need
And reach for the sky that's all that I need
And I, I'll be all that I need

I'm learning how to stand tall
I'm learning to break down these walls
I owe part of myself to you
You're the one who helped see me through

What I need, what I need
Is the strength that you give me
Helped me see completely
Opened my eyes
What I need, you and me
We can learn from each other
Take part in one another
In building our dreams

CHORUS

Because I believe that's all that we need
To stand together is all that I need
And pride, pride is all that we need
And a little trust is all that we need
And faith in us is all that we need
And I know love, love is all that we need

CeCe Peniston

CeCe Peniston is an R&B and dance singer/songwriter known for her international ‘90s pop hit “Finally.” The Phoenix, Arizona native got her start doing demos and background vocals for rapper Overweight Pooch. Though she didn’t have a lot of time to work on her debut album Finally, it still yielded multiple hit singles like “Keep On Walkin,” “We Got a Love Thang,” and the sentimental soul ballad “Inside That I Cried” that landed in the Top 20 Billboard charts in Pop, Dance and/or R&B categories.

For her 1994 follow-up, Thought Ya Knew, CeCe forged into more R&B territory with the Soulshock & Karlin-produced lead single “I’m In The Mood”. The album also yielded the hit singles “I’m Not Over You” and “Hit By Love”.

Label shake-ups affected the success of her third album I’m Movin' On, but the singles “Movin' On” and her remake of Jocelyn Brown’s dance classic “Somebody Else’s Guy” still made impact on both sides of the Atlantic.
