Oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord
Oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord

[Verse 1:]
Sitting all alone at home
I thought I'd sing a song
To tell you what you mean to me
And how you make me strong
You bring me through
And bring me out of each and every storm
I know I can depend on you
I'm safe within your arms

[Chorus:]
I don't need nobody else (need nobody else)
I don't need nobody else (need nobody else)
I don't need nobody else (need nobody else)

[Verse 2:]
No matter what my friends may say
Oh when I'm feeling down
You lift me up and give me strength
To reach a higher ground
Take me, make me, do what you feel
I know you'll fight my battles
If I just keep still
Break me, shake me, fill me until
I can see your glory
And I know to do your will
You have made me to give you praise
I will lift my voice to you
And sing in every way

[Chorus]

'Cause I'm tied up, tangled up, wrapped up
Come on, joy
'Cause I'm wrapped up, tangled up
Tied up, covered up, emptied, filled-in of my joy

Picked me up and turned me around
Placed my feet on solid ground

'Cause I'm tied up, tangled up, wrapped up
Come on, joy
'Cause I'm wrapped up, tangled up
Tied up, covered up, emptied, filled-in of my joy

[Vamp 1:]
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy

[Vamp 2:]
Oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord
Oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord

Need nobody else
Need nobody else

'Cause I'm tied up, tangled up, wrapped up
Come on, joy
'Cause I'm wrapped up, tangled up
Tied up, covered up, emptied, filled-in of my joy

Need nobody else
Need nobody else

CeCe Peniston

CeCe Peniston is an R&B and dance singer/songwriter known for her international ‘90s pop hit “Finally.” The Phoenix, Arizona native got her start doing demos and background vocals for rapper Overweight Pooch. Though she didn’t have a lot of time to work on her debut album Finally, it still yielded multiple hit singles like “Keep On Walkin,” “We Got a Love Thang,” and the sentimental soul ballad “Inside That I Cried” that landed in the Top 20 Billboard charts in Pop, Dance and/or R&B categories.

For her 1994 follow-up, Thought Ya Knew, CeCe forged into more R&B territory with the Soulshock & Karlin-produced lead single “I’m In The Mood”. The album also yielded the hit singles “I’m Not Over You” and “Hit By Love”.

Label shake-ups affected the success of her third album I’m Movin' On, but the singles “Movin' On” and her remake of Jocelyn Brown’s dance classic “Somebody Else’s Guy” still made impact on both sides of the Atlantic.
