[Intro: Charlie Puth]
One, two, three, four
Why are we looking down
On our sisters and brothers?
Isn't love, all that we got?
Don't we know everyone's
Got a father and mother?
The day we know we're all the same
Together we can make that change

[Verse 1: James Taylor, Both]
Look around, there are too many of us crying
And not enough love to go around
What a waste, another day
Another good one dying
But I know that the world will change
The day we know we're all the same

[Chorus: Charlie Puth]
Why can’t we just get along?
If loving one another's wrong
Then how are we supposed to
Get close to each other?
We gotta make that change, yeah
Why can’t we just get along?

[Verse 2: James Taylor, Charlie Puth, Both]
What a waste it would be to deny somebody
Of a chance to be theirselves
What a waste it would be if we hurt for nothing?
But I know that the world can change
The day we know we're all the same

[Chorus: Charlie Puth]
Why can’t we just get along?
If loving one another's wrong
Then how are we supposed to
Get close to each other?
We gotta make that change, yeah

[Bridge: Charlie Puth]
I know we could break apart
We don’t have to go that way
Not today

[Chorus: Charlie Puth]
Why can’t we just get along?
If loving one another's wrong
Then how are we supposed to
Get close to yeah
Why can’t we just get along?
If loving one another's wrong
Then how are we supposed to
Get close to each other?
We gotta make that change, yeah

[Outro: Charlie Puth]
That change, yeah

Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth is an American singer-songwriter who started by making and covering songs on his YouTube channel. His big break came when he was featured on the Furious 7 song “See You Again,” which he had written for a friend who passed away in a similar accident. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for twelve weeks, becoming the longest-running rap number one along with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” The song’s iconic music video was also the most viewed video on all of YouTube for a short amount of time when it passed PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in July 2017.

His first project, The Otto Tunes, was released in 2010, with the title being a play on his middle name, Otto, and autotune. His second release, Ego, was also self-produced and dropped in October 2013.

His major-label debut Nine Track Mind was released January 29, 2016, and lead single “Marvin Gaye” with Meghan Trainor topped the charts in the UK and reached the top twenty-five in the US, peaking at #21. His next single “One Call Away” fared even better, hitting #12 in the US and establishing Puth as a full-blown star as opposed to a two-hit wonder. A deluxe edition of the record was released in November 2016.
