"There must be some way out of here", said the joker to the thief
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl

Dave Mason

Dave Mason got his start as the founding guitarist of Traffic, a band he left and rejoined quite a few times over the years.

But his impact on rock music goes far beyond that influential band, as he has also been a session musician for a stunning lineup of other bands, including Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Leon Russell, both Crosby and Nash, and his own former bandmate Steve Winwood. He released an album with Cass Elliot in 1970, and was a member of Fleetwood Mac in the 1990s.

He also had a few of his own hits, most notably the ageless We Just Disagree from the album Let it Flow, and Only You know and I know, both still played on rock stations today.
