Songwriter: Paul McCartney

[Verse 1]
(Yesterday)
All my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday

[Verse 2]
(Suddenly)
I'm not a half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly

[Chorus]
(Why she had to go)
I don't know, she wouldn't say
And I said something wrong
I long for yesterday

[Verse 3]
(Yesterday)
Love was such an easy game to play
I need myself a hide-away
Oh, I believe in yesterday
(I believe in yesterday)

[Chorus]
(Why she had to go)
I don't know, she wouldn't say
I said something wrong
Now I long for yesterday

[Verse 4]
(Yesterday)
Yesterday
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe
(I believe in yesterday)

[Chorus 2]
(I believe in yesterday) [?]
(I believe in yesterday) Thank you, Lord
(I believe in yesterday) [?]
(I believe in yesterday) [?]
(I believe in yesterday) [?] no good for nothing
(I believe in yesterday) They laugh with me [?] a dime-a-dozen
(I believe in yesterday) I will play that [?]
(I believe in yesterday) And all you left me
(I believe in yesterday) was yesterday
(I believe in yesterday)

[Outro]
And if I can't convince you by next Wednesday, we can forget the whole shit

Dr. John

Malcolm John “Mac” Rebennack (November 21, 1940 – June 6, 2019), better known by the stage name Dr. John (also Dr. John Creaux, or Dr. John the Night Tripper), was an American singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist, whose music combines blues, pop, jazz as well as zydeco, boogie woogie and rock and roll.

Active as a session musician since the late 1950s, he gained a cult following in the late 1960s following the release of his album Gris-Gris and his appearance at the Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music.

He performed a wildly theatrical stage show inspired by medicine shows, Mardi Gras costumes and voodoo ceremonies. Rebennack has recorded over 20 albums and in 1973 scored a top-20 hit with the jaunty funk-flavored “Right Place Wrong Time”, is still his best-known song.
