[Intro]
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo

[Verse 1]
I've seen the Joshua Tree
Got down on my knees
Threw the Virgin Mother a prayer
I've walked glass barefooted
Strolled 'cross the devil's hot coals
I've tried everything, I swear

[Chorus]
Oh, but hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm a desperate man
I said hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm just a desperate man

[Post-Chorus]
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo

[Verse 2]
Fortuneteller told me
"No more last chances
You got no future at all"
Oh, but I ain't listenin'
You black-hearted gypsy
With a crucifix through her bedroom wall

[Chorus]
Hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm a desperate man
I said hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm just a desperate man

[Post-Chorus]
Oh, yeah
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo

[Bridge]
Yeah, I'm a half-cock, full-tilt, scarred-hands-to-the-hilt
Don't-push-me grown-ass man
Yeah, flashin' light caution, careful where ya cross son
'Til she comes back again

[Chorus]
Yeah, hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm a desperate man
Oh, hey (hey) what can I say?
I'm just a desperate man
Oh, hey (hey) I said hey (hey)
Woah, what can I say? I'm a desperate man
Oh, hey (hey) I said hey (hey)
I'm just a desperate man

[Post-Chorus]
Oh, yeah
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Grown-ass man
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo

[Outro]
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo
Boo, boo, boo-boo-boo-boo-boo

Eric Church

Eric Church is an American country music singer-songwriter from Granite Falls, North Carolina. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a business degree in 2000, Eric became engaged to a Spanish teacher from Lenior, NC whose father attempted to deter his musical aspirations by offering him a corporate career in Denver. After turning down her father’s offer, Church’s ex-fiance broke the engagement, giving Church motivation to move to Nashville and begin focusing solely on his music. Recollections of this turning point in Church’s life are heard throughout his lyrical portfolio (most prominently in “Those I’ve Loved”).

After a period of being overlooked by record labels and producers, Church was eventually signed to Capitol Records in 2006, making his debut with the album, Sinners Like Me. The album produced four singles on the Billboard Country Chart, “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” “Guys Like Me,” and the album’s title track.

His second album, 2009’s Carolina, produced three more “Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most,” and “Hell on the Heart.”
