JUNIEL (주니엘)

Juniel (주니엘), stylized as JUNIEL, was born in Seoul, South Korea as Seo Ah Choi (최서아; Choi Seo Ah) on September 3, 1993 and is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress who made her major debut in the country with her EP My First June in 2012, under FNC Entertainment.

JUNIEL’s passion in music began at a young age, where she first began to sing and dance as a child, using K-pop star BoA as her inspiration. By the time she was in high school, she picked up the guitar, and at the age of 16, she wrote her first song, entitled “Boy”, which would eventually end up in her Japanese EP Ready go!.

While in Japan, she also competed on the program Nijiiro Supernova beating out all other contestants. After, she joined Good Entertainment as a trainee, but later joined FNC Entertainment, alongside CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa (정용화) (the two would later perform a song together called 바보 (Fool) which was a track off her first Korean EP).
