I should have known that it would be too good to last
You took my colours and he nailed them to his mast
And sailed on past
It soon be happens to me every way I turn
And if it's true that pain's the only way to learn
I'm learning fast
So here I go again back to where I started
Nine times out of ten I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get depressed and I don't get downhearted
Because every now and then the loser gets to win
Every time I missed a ride thats come along
My Mister Right keeps turning into Mister Wrong
It's the same old song
Something happens to me every time around
But there's no way I'm going to let it get me down
I'll just keep right on
So here I go again back to where I started
Nine times out of ten I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get depressed and I don't get downhearted
Because every now and then the loser gets to win
Well I believe that my ship is coming in
The loser gets to win
Well I believe that my ship is coming in
The loser gets to win
Nine times out of ten I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get depressed and I don't get downhearted
Because every now and then the loser gets to win
Here I go again back to where I started
Nine times out of ten I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get depressed and I don't get downhearted
Because every now and then the loser gets to win
The loser gets to win
Here I go again
Nine times out of ten I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get d

Kiki Dee

Pauline Matthews better known as Kiki Dee, is an English singer.

She kicked around Britain as a white soul singer for the better part of the late ‘60s and early '70s – even becoming the first British Caucasian signed to Motown – before hooking up with Elton John, who signed her to his Rocket Records label and produced her first notable hit, “I’ve Got the Music in Me.”

In 1976, at which time John was the biggest pop star in the world, he wrote and duetted with Dee on the single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” which promptly topped the charts all over the world. It did not, however, make Dee a long-term star, though she scored a couple of subsequent hits in England and turned to the stage with some success, especially by starring in Blood Brothers in the West End.
