[Intro]
Night people, oh, oh
People of the night

[Verse 1]
I wanna talk about the night people on the street
You can be sure that you're gonna meet
Night people out for a midnight dream
After the lights have gone down, yeah
Late at night there is a feeling of pure delight
That's when the night people meets their height
When all the lights have gone down, yeah, yeah

[Chorus]
(Night people) Are you one? (Oh, oh)
Do you dance in the street
Just like the people of the night? Yeah
Yeah, you see they're dancing, romancing
(Do you know that night people) Are you one? (Oh, oh)
Do your dances like those (People of the night)
They will always be found
Whenever night comes around

[Verse 2]
Mystery flows through the air
On a tempting breeze
Urging the night people loud and free
After the lights have gone down, yeah
Music plays
Up until morning, they all will stay
Night people dancing the night away
When all the lights have gone down
Listen, baby

[Chorus]
(Night people) Are you one? (Oh, oh)
Do you dance in the street
Just like the people of the night? Yeah
You see they're moving and grooving
(Do you know that night people) Ooh-hoo (Oh, oh)
Ooh baby (People of the night)
(Do you know that)

[Bridge]
I see you come alive, baby
In the starlight, every single night
Your face is like the moon that's shining
Makes me smile and feel alright
(At midnight, there's a love bite)
Love is the feeling in the air

[Outro]
(Night people) Yes, I'm one (Oh, oh)
I like to have a lot of fun, yeah
(People of the night)
Moving and grooving with the night people
Every night
(Do you know that night people) Did you know? (Oh, oh)
You see them out on Broadway
(People of the night)
Dancing the night away, oh, oh, night people
(Do you know that night people, oh, oh)
Do you know that night people
(People of the night)
May be found, north, south, east and west
(Do you know that night people)

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
