[Verse 1]
I know we switched up and we chose sides
I know we broke hearts and we broke ties
But don't trip, it's alright
I swear to God, I think I need a nametag
'Cause you're lookin' at me like, "Who?"
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I know you gotta know how that stings
You never resigned with the team
We went up so many rings
Tryna make money, can't make time
No more ha-ha's, just straight sighs

[Chorus]
And I know, yeah I know
We move on, we let go of what we had, yeah
If we both end up old
Never talk, you should know I ain't mad
Yeah-eah-eah, yeah

[Refrain]
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend

[Verse 2]
I know we been down since seventh grade
Even at our own [?] shake
And we started throwin' that shade
And now, I don't know who to blame
We was both playin' those games
But nobody won, what a shame
Shame on me, yeah, shame on me
I shoulda stayed yo' homie
And now you barely know me
Hit you on Twitter, got stupid blocked
Seen you in the mall, it's super awk, awk

[Chorus]
And I know, yeah I know
We move on, we let go of what we had, yeah
If we both end up old
Never talk, you should know I ain't mad
Yeah-eah-eah, yeah

[Refrain]
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend

[Interlude]
And I know you don't text me back
What's up with that? Even in the past, shit went bad
I still got yo' back, it's still me and you
And if I were to die today

[Chorus]
And I know, yeah I know
We move on, we let go of what we had, yeah
If we both end up old
Never talk, you should know I ain't mad
Yeah-eah-eah, yeah

[Refrain]
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend
You were my friend, yeah
You were my friend, yeah-eah
You were my friend
