(Verse 1)
You & I
We are the same we win and lose in the game of life...
You & I
We seek the truth looking for the signs in the universe...

In this journey... We are companions struglings through life towards our
Way...

Chours

Why should a mother cry...
Why should a wife see her husband die...
Oooh tell me why do we have to fight...
Why don't we try just you and I...
Ooh why don't we try...

(Verse 2)
You & I
We love our land protect our home against any harm...
You & I
Dream of a day when everybody will live in peace...
In this journey... We are companions struglings through life towards our
Way...

Chours

Why should a mother cry...
Why should a wife see her husband die...
Oooh tell me why do we have to fight...
Why don't we try just you and I...
Ooh why don't we try...

(Verse 3)
Throughout history so many senseless wars
Yet we never learn, we're building borders around us
But we still have a chance to heal our wounded world
Let's get rid of hatred and see each other as we really are
Before it's to late, who knows what tomorrow may bring
But without justice there's no way that peace can exist

Chours

Why should a mother cry...
Why should a wife see her husband die...
Oooh tell me why do we have to fight...
Why don't we try just you and I...

Ooh can you tell me why should a mother cry...
Why should a wife see her husband die...
Ooooh tell me why do we have to fight...
Why don't we try just you and I...

Ooh can you tell me why should a mother cry...
Why should a wife see her husband die...
Ooooh tell me why do we have to fight...
Why don't we try just you and I...
Why don't we try...

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. Jackson began his career when he was seven years old as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, breaking into stardom in 1969 after signing into Motown. The Jackson 5’s first four singles all peaked at number one on the Billboard 100, and soon after Michael pursued a solo career.

His breakthrough fifth album, 1979’s Off The Wall produced four top ten hits (including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”) and sold 20 million copies, establishing him as a household name. The album was followed with 1982’s Thriller, which became the best selling album of all time, and was the first album to feature seven top 10 singles, including “Billie Jean” and “Beat It.”

In 1985, Michael contributed to the collaboration single “We Are The World”, which remains one of the best-selling singles of all time and raised nearly $65 million for famine relief.
