Songwriter: Prince

Producer: Prince

[Intro: Prince]
Girls and boys!

[Verse 1: Prince]
He only knew her for a little while
But he had grown accustomed to her style
She had the cutest ass he'd ever seen
He did too, they were meant to be
They loved to kiss on the steps of Versailles
It looked like rain, mama, birds do fly

[Chorus: Prince]
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys

[Verse 2: Prince]
He gave her all the love that anyone can
But she was promised to another man
He tried so hard not to go insane
Birds do fly, looks like rain

[Chorus: Prince]
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys

[Verse 3: Prince]
Life is precious baby, love is so rare
I can take the breakup if you say that you care
He had to run away, his pride was too strong
It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

[Chorus: Prince]
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys

[Spoken Interlude: Marie France]

[Chorus: Prince]
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys
I love you baby, I love you so much
Maybe we can stay in touch
Meet me in another world, space and joy
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys

[Verse 4: Prince]
Happiness in it's uncut form
Is the feeling that I get, you're warm, warm
Happy's what I get when we do what we do
Happiness, mama, is being with you
Good lord

[Outro: Prince]
Meet me somewhere after dawn
Lord (I love you baby)
(I love you so much)
(Maybe we can stay in touch)
(I love you baby)
(I love you so much)
Vous etes belle
So like I saw you from across the room, and (maybe we can stay in touch)
Honey, you danced so hard I smelled your perfume (maybe we can stay in touch)
And the look on your lips said that
"We could talk some more, (maybe we can stay in touch)
Some more on the dance floor baby" (I love you baby)
Hear the words I'm saying (I love you so much)
Feel the sex I'm laying (maybe we can stay in touch)
Naughty's what I want to be with you tonight
Tonight
(Meet me in another world, space and joy)
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys
Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys

Prince and the Revolution

“The Revolution” was originally the live backing band for Prince in the early years of his career. They first appeared in a studio capacity on 1999, but it wasn’t until 1984’s Purple Rain when they were officially credited. The band is noted for its diverse range of musicians, which wasn’t very common in the 1980s and inspired by what Sly Stone did with The Family Stone.

The most famous line-up consisted of Prince on lead vocals, guitar, and piano, Wendy Melvoin on guitar and vocals, Brown Mark on bass guitar and vocals, Lisa Coleman on keyboards, piano, and vocals, Matt “Doctor” Fink on keyboards and vocals, and Bobby Z on drums and percussion. The last albums where the Revolution was credited was 1985’s Around the World In A Day & 1986’s Parade.
